I guess I was perhaps unfairly focusing on their very consistent bracelets and case look, and not giving enough credit to their complications and finishing. I will focus on respecting them without necessarily wanting to own them.

After further review of batting averages, with your PP collection my friend, I'd put you at a thousand on that basis alone!

We've got a very similar trio.
My first trinity watch was the VC Patrimony, then added the PP Annual Calendar and then was on the fence between the 15202 and the 5711 (when the Nautilus was somewhat attainable), but went with the AP Jumbo so I could complete the holy trinity. No regrets at all despite the current resale value of the 5711. The second pic with the full collection, a couple of Rolex icons and a vintage Speedy to round out the collection.

Of all the brands, I’ve yet to try a Rado, Hublot, or VC. I know what you’re thinking, one of those three doesn’t belong on that list. The only reason I’ve not tried the BC was that I haven’t found a model that appealed to me. However that Patrimony has been steadily growing on me.
Great collection. |

I understand what you mean, somehow not being independent makes the company less desirable yet when I try to rationalize it, I can't. The only thing I can think of is that the may have to chase the market more in order to meet certain revenue goals. Yet, independents could be more susceptible to short term revenue misses. So then I'm not sure what the real issue is...

Assuming the independent is financially secure they can lose money for a while if staying the course is in their long term interests, a public company its a much harder sell. I think a lot of these gimmicky things generally come from the non independents and all things being equal they probably dont want to do them in the first place. Thats the risk and the downside from WIS of getting into a non independent brand. |

Interesting, a lot of you have trouble appreciating VC, which is my favorite brand. I have an Overseas and a Toledo 1952. My next will be an American 1921.
Also have a 15305OR and ceramic diver. I was close to getting a 5712 but when I tried it on it felt too light. Guess I’ll substitute my Zeitwerk for a pseudo Trinity. Sent from my Zeitwerk |

I tried on a 1921 today at an AD I came across during a business trip. Lovely watch, I tried on the RG but can imagine that the PT version is even nicer.

ZW is way cool and along with other ALS pieces puts ALS in the holy quartet IMO.

On VC, would love me Traditionelle small seconds rg as my dress watch. It appears to be an amazing value too, especially compared to the 5127 from PP.
