Very nice, and a good deal it seems too.

My personal preference has the 5164 over the 5167 everyday, for many of the same reasons you state above.

Thanks Neil. You have a good sense of what I'm thinking when I was still thinking of keeping both (in that other thread.)

Enjoy your 5164.

I can totally see why you would do that! I was forewarned about the rotary date - I've never owned a piece with a rotary date, so it's a bit of a learning curve for me to read it.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
For some, because the Aquanaut is easier to obtain when the Nautilus is unobtanium. For myself, the Aquanaut is a more versatile piece than the Nautilus, and there's less to be OCD about - the PCLs on the Nautilus would likely drive me nuts, when I can relax putting my wrist on the table with an Aquanaut. That said, I'm hoping my next one will be a 5712/1A.

Admittedly the price point was one of the things that had me teetering back and forth on whether to upgrade or not. They're not that hard to find (as compared to Nautilus references), but I was expecting to spend a lot of cash for a complication that I wouldn't use that often. But the right piece came up at the right price, coupled with the fact that both the BLNR/5167 resales have been incredibly strong as of late, and it was a no brainer.

Sold off my 5167a for the 5164a. Very glad with my decision 3 years ago. Certainly looked better with greater symmetry and presence.

And this is the watch that make me fall in love with watches with pushers.

Drawbacks are the poor date legibility and less water resistance. Didn’t dare to bring it for a swim unlike my 5167a previously.

Thanks Nick - it really is a piece that's perfect for me, much like how the 44mm SS ROO is a piece that's right for you!

Stop it... Must focus on getting a 5712/1A first...

Indeed, I'm also liking the pushers. The date legibility is a slight minus after I got used to reading the rotary dial. Interestingly enough, I believe the 5164A still has the same water resistance as the 5167?

3 weeks in with this piece, it has basically become my daily wearer, much to the jealousy of all my other pieces. Perfect for everything from the boardroom, to chilling on the beach side or braving -20C cold outdoors. I can't think of a more fitting do-it-all watch for myself.

Same here, even reach for this one over PM pieces at times... well it costs more than some.

Bound to happen. Don't sweat it.

Although I kept it pristine for the first 6 months of its life!

The one I just got today is new and perfect. Want to buy that one too?

I must have spent half of my afternoon in the office just staring at it. I think I'm over it now - it's barely noticeable from most angles.

The funny thing is when I had a 5167, it came pre-scratched with a 1cm long scratch on the brushed parts of the bezel and some more significant marks on the edges. Somehow that didn't bother me at all, but this pin prick mark ruined my afternoon.

I feel you, I try hard but it’s impossible to keep it perfect. But really they are minor ones , we obsess about it though
