Tudor 7965 Oyster Prince

Hello everyone,

I have an opportunity to pick up a vintage 1960s Tudor Oyster-Prince, I believe the reference is 7965.

I haven't been able to find a similar dial/handset combination in my search online, which raises a red flag or two in my book. With that said, I am far from an expert with vintage Tudor and was hoping someone here might be able to help me out. Does this watch look to be in original condition? Any concerns?

Currently the watch is not in my possession but I will have it this week for evaluation purposes and can take more photos then if needed.

Thanks in advance!

Chris

I've come across Tudor 7965's with the same type of baton hands and stick marker dial. From the pictures you posted I don't see any red flags, however many things aren't shown (crown, buckle, movement, etc.) so take my statement with a grain of salt or two. Below is a link to a similar watch sold earlier.

Thank you, I appreciate your insight! I'm curious to know how much AVW sold their piece for. I do have photos of the rest of the watch and everything looks good to me. I was alarmed when I couldn't find a matching dial configuration anywhere, so thanks for the link!

Once I receive the watch I will be taking it to my watchmaker to check out the movement, best to check all the boxes before I take ownership...
