My Second Rolex (to my 17 year-old SS/PL Yacht-Master -- A GMT BLNR!
It's hard to capture the beauty of the BLNR in pictures. It's an astounding machine work of art. The AD I bought it from here in San Francisco (Shreve & Co. on Post Street near Union Square) was a pleasure to deal with.
They got one in, I admired and researched on this forum, mainly. Two weeks later I went in, and the watch had vanished. They'd just gotten a new one in and brought it out in a small plastic bag. I was offered champaign (it was 10am, so I said no thank you : ) and walked out an hour later with the watch on my wrist and the incredibly beautiful packaging in a Shreve & Co bag (which feels like it's made of steel!) I've enjoyed this amazing watch for five weeks now and note that every time I go in to ogle the other watches, including the Sky Dwellers and the WG GMT BLRO, that they've not gotten in another BLNR. Mario, my wonderful rep says, 'we're still waiting...they don't sit for long.' Thank you all for helping me make my decision. LOVE this watch! Last edited by jstan9; 4 August 2017 at 07:29 AM.. Congratulations! Nice one. It certainly seems to wear larger than the Sub, or is it just my eyes? It seems to take up more wrist real estate.

jstan, my wrists are 6.375 inches around, and I wear a 41mm Orient Mako daily which I sometimes wish was 42.5mm. I really like the size of the 43.5mm Omegas, for example. The 40mm Submariner feels and looks a bit small. It's a sports watch, I want a little heft and size. The SD50 would certainly be perfect. I'm sure others would tell me that my 41mm is perfectly fine, and they're probably right, but it's all perception I suppose. Since I can't afford the sports car for my upcoming mid-life crisis, at least I can get a big damn sports watch. Haha!
