Icon5 Swatch Group vs Richemont Group

So outside of the independents (Rolex/Tudor, Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet) these are the two large conglomerates of the watch industry: which group do you gravitate to?

Swatch Group: Breguet, Harry Winston, Blancpain, Glashütte Original, Jaquet Droz, Léon Hatot, Omega, Longines, Rado, Union Glashütte, Tissot, Balmain, Certina, Mido, Hamilton, Swatch.

Richemont: A. Lange & Söhne, Baume & Mercier, Cartier, IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Montblanc, Officine Panerai, Piaget, Roger Dubuis, Vacheron Constantin, and Van Cleef & Arpels.

Well, LMVH is only 4 brands – TAG Heuer, Zenith, Hublot, Bvlgari (inc. Daniel Roth).
I don’t think Chaumet and Louis Vuitton really count.

None. My watches are more with the independents including the Japanese and German brands.

For me, Richemont has better brands with ALS, VC, and JLC.
Only brand I really like in Swatch is Omega.

Yep, love the duometre line from JLC, just that would tip the scale for me, probably the only watch from any of these brands I sometimes think of getting

There are a couple watches I would love from Richemont, so that gets my vote.
But most of the time, neither... Rolex, AP, PP and someday RM are my favs.

Each conglomerate has been owning my favorite brands but I would pick Richmont due to A Lange Sohne and Vacheron Constantin.
In terms of business success : Swatch Group

LVMH is another giant and most likely my favorite due to Zenith Ownership

My Omega is pre-swatch and Cartier is Richemont. But I never had to deal with the service of either and will never have to. So I really don't care.

I voted swatch, but mostly because I would be more likely to buy something from the swatch group given my budget.

GO, Omega, and Blancpain all have watches on my short list to buy.

Now if I were sponsored by one.... I might choose Richemont as I would gladly take a few ALS or Vacheron for free, but realistically, the only brand I could really buy is JLC, and even then, those would come after some of those from Swatch.

I understand the gut reaction affinity towards an independent group. However, for ALS for example, does anyone believe the fact that they are a part of richemont is a bad thing?
