Singapore AD

I had the opportunity to visit the AD on Orchard. I was staying at-the Marriott, which is literally next door.

I was met at the door with a smile and escorted to the showroom. I was offered a chair and cold water. Great people, nice place
,interesting conversation.

And no, the rep told me they had no references on-hand to sale, but, the case was full with watches to try on.

Ill post some photos as soon as I resize them.

If you actually want to buy a Rolex then walk round to Far East Plaza on Scotts Road off Orchard. Full of Grey dealers. I'd recommend Singapore Watch Exchange. Bought my Starbucks from them. Watch Capital is also well known and respected.

Recently bought a Speedster Pro from the Omega Boutique in the ION Centre on Orchard. It made a refreshing change to actually be able to buy a watch and be treated well when doing so. Much better than usual "No la" you get from the Rolex ADs.

I have put my name down for various watches (i.e. bluesy, Batman, Pepsi) since before COVID. My purchase history was just a Tudor GMT at the pop-up store (used to be at Tangs). No luck after all these years and I was not bright enough to bite on the bait when my SA (whom moved to Hour Glass Vivo) asked me to buy other brands such as Glasshutte, Hublot e.t.c. I personally think Hour Glass only cater to whales…

I'd actually be curious who invest in a relationship with a Singapore AD instead of just going to the deep gray market, especially if not living in Singapore and/or not making frequent big ticket purchases like a whale.

That depends how much the customer is willing to spend.
It is true SG Rolex AD will only sell to locals, rarely if any reference would be allocated to a non local, unless you have deep pockets.

Luckily for anyone that can’t get what they want in a Singapore AD you can buy anything you like that’s pre owned. The grey market is awash with some great watches

At many AD’s it goes much deeper than the $$’s spent.

I think most ADs only prioritize whales.

I've had a good experience with all AD in SG, with the exception of the Rolex boutique in MBS. The SA made me feel like I was wasting his time. It was several years ago, but I never stepped in again.

Try this small AD in Lucky-Plaza just next to Tang, or Emperor in Wisma Atria across the street. Or the Paragon further down (5min walk). There are smaller brands there like Nomos, Junghans, Baltic, Ulysse Nardin...
