U S Open Golf
The U S Open is an odd major in that it is often won by an unknown, sometimes more than once, who then is never heard from again. Cases in point are the current leaders (who?).
I'd love to see Phil give it a good run this weekend and maybe win. If not Phil, I like Bubba (yeah, I'm left handed). |

It would be nice to see Jon Rahm win it after having to withdraw last week while leading the tourney

US Open is without doubt the most exciting and greatest test of golf. Narrow fairways, long rough, and fast greens typically prove for exciting Sundays. Experience is key but sometimes unknowns end up winning. I always root for the course, its great seeing players pushed to their limits and having to survive just for par.

I’m an Oosthuizen fan. Love his swing and his approach to the game.

I’d like to see Rahm or Xander get their first major.

There's the makings of a memorable final round tomorrow.
Lot of great players within 5 strokes.

The rough on that course is brutal. If they didn't have spotters and fans, I wonder how many lost ball penalties there would be. Kinda reminds me of my home course where I can lose half a dozen balls (or more) in one round. Of course, I probably find that many balls in the rough while looking for mine!

Those roughs are Long and tough to hit out of on a regular weekend but are insane on U.S. Open weekend!

Course looked great and tough. Imo the biggest news of the weekend as a watch enthusiast was seeing J Rahm’a dad wearing a yet to be announced/released version of the Air King. It was a matte blue dial version. Not sure if 3230 based. Incredible.

Those last two putts Rahm made on 17 and 18 were amazing.
Downhill, sidehill, left to right breakers (huge break on 17) and he drained them both. A well-deserved win. |

So was I. Won his first pro title on the European Tour at his 478th attempt, at the age of 48, and in a playoff. They had his parents on video call afterwards, all in tears. Lost his card in 2018 also and battled to get it back.
And then to be leading the US open at the halfway stage. |
