Why can not faux patina be desirable?
My Tudor Pelagos LHD has that machiatto type ivory treatment and I like it.
It appears to me so much nicer than their eye-blinding white.
Matter of choice and preference. My personal opinion is patina adds character.

I agree

If done right, I really like it

It's all personal taste. Some like, some don't. It looks good against a blue dial and I like it. And like it on a black dial Panerai. I just don't care for it on the Breitling. Like I said, personal taste. If we all liked the same thing, there would be only one watch. No right or wrong. Just different. Glad some like it.

For those worried about the loss of contrast: I promise, you're not losing much contrast from white-on-black to slightly yellow-on-black

If it looks good, I like it.
