1680 Red Submariner

Hey everyone,

I am looking at purchasing a red 1680 Submariner from someone I know who deals with preowned and vintage pieces. I am not the most well versed when it comes to vintage pieces. Can I get some opinions on this please......I am not finding a lot of 1680's out there like I was a 6 months to a year ago.

Its roughly a 1970's with the mark II dial. I does not have the original bracelet with it, but it does have the original punched paperwork with the matching serial number. I just need some in and opinions on this

thanks all :)

Not a very attractive example because of the discolored tritium on the dial. Not sure what's going on with the tritium because it appears to be more than just patina. Something happened to it or it's been messed with. It's also missing a chunk of tritium at 12 o'clock, and the 4 and 5 o'clock plots looks as if they might be missing all lume. Hard to tell.

I guess it would depend on what you're looking for and the price. But for me, this would be a pass at any price.

Looking at the photos for me there is to much difference between the sharpness of the case and the condition of the dial, I'll find it unbalance, not an appealing dial
