Help with a friend's emergency

Hey, I usually just lurk here and mostly post on the panerai forum but I need help:

Just got this text from a buddy who has a few breitling pieces.

Told him I'd ask around and see what the watch forums turn up with:

Ugh. So fustrated.. went to charge my Emergency Breitling last night and there’s no power to the charger. the connection is definetly loose. I just know it’s a .10 problem that’s going to cost me $900 or so.

I think it's totally the connection from the usb to the charger that's loose. I'll send a pic. It's like a blackberry connection.

Anyone have or have solved this issue???

Thanks!

Unfortunately I don't have the answer here but I'm curiously awaiting someone that does to respond.

Is your friend a pilot or adventure seekers who actually used this piece? Either way, in his shoes I would consult with a Breitling service centre to see what they say. From my experience as a Breitling owner they've been very good to me when ever I had questions.

For me, even if I was just a collector that didn't use the function it would still be in my best interest to make sure all is working as it should. I'm sure there's a chance it could be a very simple thing with an easy resolution but time will tell.

I am Breitling Emergency II. owner and it seems as your friend should send the charger to RSC. I would call them or e-mail them first asking to provide an estimate. Depending on when was the watch purchased it might be under warranty. I can not imagine that it would cost 900. In the meantime, I would bring the watch to AD and have it charged on their charger, which will give you enough power for up to 2 months. Other online source might be Breitlingsource.com.
