Red sub dial look ok/legit?

Hey guys.. new to the board here and grateful there is a cool community like this. I finally jumped into the vintage game and pumped. I bought this watch (see pics in link), am a fanatic about the faded bezels and love red subs. This is the one I got but a random “watchmaker” I took it to to help me install a lume pearl of course freaked me out saying “you gotta be careful with so many faked dial jobs out there these days!” No other comments from him and of course was happy to charge me if I wanted a deeper inspection. I really was pleased with the service of the guy I bought it from and just wanted to see what the crowd thought of this dial. I have no expertise on how to tell if this is legit or not! Like I said, I trust the dealer and his rep but just showing these pics:

Thanks and I look forward to getting in on the talks here more now!

It is a Mark 4 dial, as advertised. I dont see anything wrong with it. Lume looks ok too but you can use a UV light to confirm. Congratulations on the purchase. Good dealer too.

You bought it from Jacek. You really have nothing to worry about. Very nice watch. Lots of character. I’d be more worried about your watchmaker snapping the insert when he adds the pearl.

x2

I wouldn't take it to a random watchmaker, though. It doesn't sound like yours knows what he's doing.

Send it to one of our known experts in the field of vintage. LA Watchworks, Rolliworks, Bob Ridley seem to be the holy triumvirate in the USA.

I have to give some more cool detail to this story. After the crazy watchmaker guy tried to sell me on a certification job, I followed my gut and took my watch home not letting him touch it! I called Jacek, who chatted with me immediately and spent a ton of time with me explaining various details about the dial, etc. I told him I trusted him (I do!) and yet he still encouraged me to drop the pics on the web for the expected feedback the internet can be brutal with. I didn’t even really want to do this, but he was eager for me to “be completely comfortable”, offered to still buy it back if needed and of course let me have it examined anywhere in the world. Obviously I feel comfortable with it, but throwing it up here only confirms his reputation with so many knowledgeable forum members!

I should also say he even is just taking care of adding a correct lume pearl for me and paid for overnight shipping to knock that out fast for me. I am very pumped about this unique watch and first vintage purchase. He has made the experience a great one and I will buy from him again
