Replacing the bracelet on a 5500: Thoughts?
Hi all, im debating on replacing the bracelet on my '79 Air King. Its on what I believe to be its original oyster. The clasp is starting to get a little weak in the sense that it has tried to pop open a few times on me. Can you call Rolex and order a bracelet for this watch, or would I have to send the whole watch in?

If I was in your shoes, I would keep the bracelet you currently have and try to find a used one on ebay or elsewhere. Or consider sending the bracelet for repair. I hear LAWW and Roliworks can freshen up bracelets. I don't know for sure, but I doubt rolex will send you a new bracelet without servicing your watch and keeping your old bracelet. And you want to keep your old bracelet for sure. But it never hurts to call a rolex service center and ask.

It's trivial to tighten the clasp. Just bend the blade a tiny bit.
