Trying to decide between these two as a daily wearer. I’m partial to Chronos but the GP looks amazing on the wrist. The JLC is also a bit unusual with no running seconds, and it doesn’t have a date which would be a first for me. Really undecided - any thoughts?

For me JLC Polaris Chronograph looks more interesting for me. And I also like it on the strap.

I have that chrono and one advantage is the JLC quick release system. You can add a bracelet, perfect fitting rubber straps (they have blue green and black) and then normal straps.

Good news, as I’m looking at the leather strap rather than bracelet!

How do you find the lack of date and running seconds?

I would go for the GP out of those two. I have never been a big fan of chronograph diving watches, even if it is more of a diving themed watch with a leather strap.

GP Laureato has always been a watch I have admired. Their skills are underestimated by many.

Interesting. I just tried both at Wempe in NYC and thought the GP was a much nicer watch.

One question: did you look at the new Polaris Chrono? It has running seconds but no 12 hour counter on the chrono. And the dials are nicer with gradient blue or a grey / black.

I definitely would only get the last generation at a significant discount.

If you prefer chronos why not just get the laureato chronograph?

That said…. Of the two you’ve presented, I strongly go with the Laureato.

I think that the Laureato looks a lot like the IWC Ingenieur, which I have. Photo to follow.

between these two, I would pick GP. JLC polaris never realldy did anything for me for some reason.

Btw if you are looking at the integrated bracelet watches, suggest to try chopard alpine eagle. I tried it and found it to be superb.

I’ve just purchased the JLC Chronograph in blue and cross shopped against the GP too. On the wrist the JLC just suited me better. Love the GP and still covet it, but the JLC is a beauty too. Nice dilemma.

Thanks everyone, some helpful thoughts. Erring towards the GP though still a bit of thinking to do. Will maybe go and try them on again…
