Only because Rolex deliberately make it so no bugger can actually buy the thing. If Omega stopped making more than a few fistfuls of Moonwatches per year and restricted what supply there is to "preferred customers" then guess what would happen to the resale value?!

Not Daytona

I have a new Zenith El Primero and a new Omega speedy 9300 for the price of a Daytona. On both the subdials are easier to read than the Daytona and keep great time!

Have a Daytona and have had the el primero, I never use the chronograph feature :( I’m thinking I don’t deserve a chronograph lol, maybe I should switch or start a thread regarding who uses the feature and for what :)

ROO from the front, Dato from the back.

PN for vintage.

King maybe because of sheer sales volume. For me the heritage and king would be the Zenith EP. I own a Daytona and would love a Zenith but I can't stop buying Rolex right now. Just my favorite brand at this moment.

The Speedy is -- straight up -- completely mismanaged as a brand. A shame given its heritage.

What unlimited limited editions and a million different variations isn't a good thing

I think the daytona can have a very good case made for it.

not daytona

I have owned 4 versions of the daytona, 5 versions of ap chronos, (two rocs, 3 roos and a jules audemars chrono, ), an original dato, zeniths, breguets, blancpains, hublots, parmigianis, VCs, Mullers, JLCs and currently the one below. I think patek 5070, 5170 are the top,but this is a close second.

Daytona: The king of chronographs?

Here is my chronograph collection with my Rolex Daytona being my favourite by a mile.

Do not underestimate how good Breitling are though, they invented the Chronograph, and the new B01 movement (which is in my 2 Breitlings) is an outstanding movement.

I have a 6265, a vintage Speedmaster and 2 vintage Navitimer.

Had a Cosmo with Zenith movement, some Heuer Carrera from the 60's and honestly Rolex Daytona is the one which is perhaps one of the most comfortable and the one everybody likes and wants.

However, I really like to wear Speedy and Navitimer as I'm less concerned when I wear it in Paris where wearing nice Daytona especially vintage is more and more dangerous.

King. All day. I do like the Speedys though... maybe some day.

I hated the previous daytona, but I love the current ceramic model.

That being said, no, it's not the kind of chronographs.

That will forever be the Speedmaster Professional.

Yes, the Daytona is better finished and higher quality in every measurable way, but there will never be a time when auto racing is more meaningful than mankind's exploration of space.

I'll take going to the moon over going to a race track.

An additional note, I'm not a fan of Omega and their unlimited limited editions, but I respect them for keeping the "moonwatch" as faithful as they have.

This. Couldn't have said it better myself.

King in terms of historical perspective? Speedmaster

King in terms of market demand? Daytona

King in terms of horological porn? Datograph/1815

King in terms of timeless class? Patek
