Finally got a Speedy Pro! (And too many pictures.)

I can't believe I waited this long, what a cracking watch. I bought the new 005 (hesalite) model, which I know some say is expensive, and partly paying for a useless box, but I got it at a very good price from a non-authorised dealer (I can live without the AD £500+ cup of tea!), and the box of goodies does add a bit to the experience. I do think this watch is good value regardless, compared to most other luxury watches anyway. I'm really pleased I went for the hesalite version - the dial is surprisingly clear as a result, although I don't really notice the often talked about "attractive" distortion (which seems about the same as a sapphire box crystal to me). It's well built and nicely finished, fits me beautifully in my opinion and is super comfortable as a result, and so far at least keeps really good time (+5 s/d).

Fantastic pictures! It makes me regret not taking any pictures when I bought mine.

Yeah me too. Bought mine 6 months before Omega upgraded to the new box, ugh.
Awesome pics and congrats on a great purchase.

Those are some gorgeous photos! Congrats on the new watch! The Speedy Pro has tremendous value at going purchase prices, and in my opinion, some of the best 'bang for your buck' you can find.

Pro Tip: If you haven't already, go ahead and buy a couple tubes of Polywatch. Hesalite breaks normal mathematical laws when it comes to the time/space continuum. Results may include scratching the lens on an object from 50 meters away. I've never regretted my .005 but I also always keep a tube of Polywatch handy for such occurrences.

Thanks, yes my tube of Polywatch is being delivered from Amazon today hopefully!

(I'm going to see how I feel about wear marks though ... it could be that I like them, up to a point. I don't mind minor scratches on my watch cases generally, as long as I know they were put there by me.)

Congrats and great pictures! I got the same model recently. Love it! Wearing it on the nato today. I also got a nice suede strap, which looks great, too (and the bracelet is great - so many options).

Love the Speedy - those macro shots are amazing - I never realised the dial had that sandblasted/textured effect on it.

Amazing, enjoy... also re kindled my interest in this watch, definitely just moved back up near the top of my 'wanted' list

A lot of opinions on the 'Special Box' and all the trinkets being a waste of time, but I disagree.

I am considering a Speedy as a gift to my Son, but will wait for a landmark occasion such as his 18th or 21st Birthday, or maybe a College/University graduation etc.

The box will be a nice touch to enhance the whole 'Special' occasion...

Also the loupe is actually really practical and its surprising how many times I use mine to look at all sorts of stuff close up, not just my watches.

Super watch - congrats!!! I went for the sapphire sandwich as as the display case back was worth the extra. Watch is so versatile, looks great on leather and it's my preffered choice.
As others have said it's the best value proposition in its pricing segment, my only regret was taking so long to buy one

First strap change ... perhaps a bit too "furry" for my taste right now, but I suspect it will age nicely.
