Do you think this watch is over polished??

Thinking if I should purchase this watch, it’s a two tone I’ve never had a sub before just curious if it has been over polished expert if you don’t mind to chime in.

I’m not going to give an opinion on the polishing as I’m not an expert but I would happily wear it :)

I would add to check the bracelet stretch as I own the same model and it’s quite bad on mine.

As with all these hand and watch photos, I would recommend your hands be removed from the photos and the watch be placed on a steady surface where you can get some decent close-ups of your watch and what you want evaluated.

It is hard to judge anything based on your photos.

lol sometimes i think watch nerds say unpolished watches are over polished.

to me - the watch looks good and is honest. but again that is just my 2 cents.

but honestly it isn't a big deal, because nowadays this is a two way door. you can send your watch to Rolliworks and they can weld on new 316 steel onto the case, and then cut some very sharp lines into the watch. i think many "unpolished" watches have laser case welding to get that look.

Not sure about the watch but I think you fingernails have been filed too short.

Not for me, you can buy better. Looks smooth like a well used bar of soap.

It's not over polished. The center links of the bracelet look the most polished. The case looks pretty strong.

I am no expert on the process of watch polishing. However, it's probably safe to assume that whether or not something is over polished has much to do with individual taste. Personally, I think that watch is gorgeous and I would be proud to wear it.

As Springer already said, no way to give an informed opinion from those pics. IMHO not really on point for a “Watch Out” post - it doesn’t scream replica Rolex to me.

One of my Rolesor Subs is somewhat over-polished. It bothers me not.

Looks fine to me for a watch that age. It’s certainly not NOS but that’s ok. It’s a good honest Rolex.
