Quick Thoughts on Sea Dweller 116600
Hey all,
After reading the various commentary and opinions on the new SD 116600, I have been curious to experience the new piece for myself. My AD recently received a 116600 and I dropped by to quickly try it on. At first, I thought I was going to be somewhat passive on it. However, once I placed it on my wrist and viewed it in the flesh, I was very surprised. 3 favourite features: 1) The weight. I think it is the perfect weight for a Rolex sport watch. 2) I LOVE the case. I am happy that is is different than the SubC case and is unique on its own. 3) The Bezel: I was skeptical when it came to the bezel. Again, once on the wrist in person, you learn to appreciate this new piece. All in all, I am sold and may acquire one down the road. I hope my 2 cents contributed to the debate. HAGWE |

I hate pretty much every thing about the SD 116600...
Why? Because I haven't felt like wearing any other watch since I got it....

Anyone know the weight comparison of the new SDC with the prior SD 11600?

Great picture. I love the flat dial over the glossy sub dial.

I'm pretty much a hardened SD16600 fan and not big on the latest sports releases as I think they are a little too flash in some ways. That said, I tried the new SDc on and was hooked from the start, so I picked one up. Compliments the older 16600 nicely. Not sure of the precise stats for each but having worn mine for a few weeks now, I can say that the new SDc feels slightly bigger (maybe down to the bezel insert) and a little heavier. Whilst both are Seadwellers, each has it own good points and you would be hard pressed to say that one is entirely better than the other...........just a little different but that is part of the beauty of Rolex!

The only thing I am not a fan of is the price especially since a nice 16600 example can be had for around 5k-6k...
You can get a preloved no date sub and a SD16600 for the same price as the new SDC... In the end buy what you love if you can afford it but for me Id rather have 2 watches for the 11K. |
