Rolex GMT Master II 16710, winding
Hi All,
I own a Rolex GMT Master II, circa 1996, 3185 movement, and had a question regarding winding. I keep my watch in a winder. What is best practice? 1. Place in winder, clockwize rotation. (Don't self wind every day) 2. Place in winder, counter-clockwize rotation. (Don't self wind every day) 3. Place in winder, rotate in both directions. (Don't self wind every day) Or, which every one is best and also do a manual self wind daily? 25 turns? Thanks. |

If I'm not mistaken it's 40 full turns of the crown to fully find the watch it. Check the literature with your watch winder to see what setting is the best. It's not so much the direction as much as it is the number of revolutions. I prefer to just wear mine. As long as you're active the watch winds itself. Enjoy your watch. It's a great model. What bezel do you have?

I have the Coke bezel. Presently, the bezel is not clicking. I expect the spring may be broken. I was thinking of removing the bezel and seeing if it needed to be replaced.
I would also like to get the Pepsi bezel and maybe change it from time to time. This picture is all original. I would like to purchase a new Batmen GMT. |

If you use a winder, wind it fully first, then put it on the winder. You shouldn't have to wind it again as the winder will keep it at that state of wind.
