I am in the minority - The 41 mm is the way to go. 36 mm is way too small and girlie for my 8" wrist.

I agree with the last post. I love my DD2 (41mm) much better than the 36mm. It all depends on the size and wrist of the wearer, however. Many smaller framed men require the 36mm to be in proportion, and some big lugs (like me) need a larger piece so as to not get lost on the wrist. I used to think the 41 mm was plenty big, but since I've added several larger (44mm size like Panerai) watches to my collection, even the 41mm is getting smaller.

As with all the watch selections available, it comes down to personal preference. Is there a wrong answer here?
I don't think so.

Well I'm 20 years young, I'm of a fair size, but wrists are still only 7", who knows maybe they'll get bigger

Either way I agree with you paverman which ever Rolex you buy, it's gonna be amazing

BTW thanks for taking time to post all the pics people, I greatly appreciate it: a picture speaks a thousand words

I think the winding crown on the 41 mm is too small. It doesn't look right.

Don't they have a 39mm "Special Edition"?

36mm does seem small- I've had it and sold it...

Be sure you like it in 36mm... if you also wear 40mm, it will seem small to you- it did to me.

I think 36MM is the best size for a DJ/DD imo. The proportions are perfect. :) To me, It actually wears almost the same size as 40MM sub.

36mm works only on a strap for me...otherwise the 41mm is just perfect...

There's no right or wrong answer here, just personal preference.

My wrists are relatively small so my 36mm DJ fits me perfectly. In the beginning I felt like it was a bit small, but after seeing pictures of it on my wrist it actually didn't look small at all. I too, want a yg DD in the future and originally wanted the DD40 but I'm starting to favor the 36mm more now. The DD40 with green dials look amazing though.

This might seem strange but it works. Before you discount a 36mm as being too small, put it on your wrist then look in a mirror.
When you just look at it on your wrist you are only concentrating on the watch, but when you look in the mirror you see the overall picture which is a better indication of what it looks like.

I might not be describing it well but if you try it you will see what I mean.

Agree 100%. Much better dial choices on the 36mm. I'm sure over time there will be more.

Definitely the classic 36mm. For sports watches, 40mm. Wearing a 36mm is more refined for a yellow gold watch; it is noticed but not " in your face " bling.

The 36mm is perfectly proportioned and is iconic. The 40 and 41mm may be beautiful, but there is only one icon and it is 36mm. Same goes for the datejust.

Having owned both the 36 and 40 (not 41) all I can say is that the 40 does look better on your wrist from the side. However, when you look at the dial, the proportions of the hands, markers and dial are much more homogeneous on the 36mm. Bottom line is the 41 will look better from a distance on your wrist and the 36 better when you look right at the face of the watch.
