The very early F-serial were dated in 2003. Thus far, I have seen as early as
F1.2x dated 2003. (need to check again. don't have my computer with me for now).

for same condition, F is the highest price, then M, V, G, random no. with inner rolexrolexrolex.., then the middle serials. like D and Z.

sure some collectors want the y or f serial and thats their preference....but it's the exact same watch as the M serial.....

personally i would prefer the random serial 16610LV as this one is just as rare as the y serial if not more......
It is anybody's own opinion.

Apology. I should have used the word "as late as F1.2x" rather than "as early as.."

I bought my M for the maxi dial and the anniversary.
I also bought a spare bezel with a black inset just for a change-up.
Haven't tried this bezel yet.

Good to see that this model is holding it's price point.

Depending on what's the attributes you are looking at.
I can't afford a new one in their releasing years 2003-2010.
So I have to buy a pre-owned.
And at that time, my criteria is to find what's make a nice Kermit for me, I've chosen the chapter ring M serial.

That's all.

As for why 2003 is selling higher ?
It's all about demand and supply from the market to the very watch enthusiast .

Just my 2 cents

I just got me the 16610 for $3,800 from craigslist had it checked out and was a 2001 than I got me the original bezel insert for $130.00 original not aftermarket. For $3,950 I cant complain. Maybe this summer I will change for the maxi hands or the real deal. This was a blessing since I do have the black insert also. This was a present from GOD.

I think the 16610lv definitely has the potential to become very valuable in the future. Last of the non-ceramic bezels, only 16610 to have a maxi dial. Definitely a collectible piece. Won't be selling my Y966XXX LV ever

better jump on the Dssd-B than because more than likely it will be discontinued in LESS than 7 years.......

that would make the d-blue much more rare

a 16610LV is a 16610LV no matter how anyone attempts to spin it.....collectors are entitled to have a serial preference but as far as Rolex is concerned their is no TRUE 50th serial #
Great reply! As a Porsche Enthusiast this is spot on! The 50th anniversary 911 was a model year 2014. And reading your thread and others make me so glad I bought my 50th anniversary sub.

So are you also changing the dial? The Kermit has a maxi dial.

I am not going to change the dial and hands for the maxi since it will cost over $1,200. I am happy with mines for the price I paid, to be honest I like the non-maxi. I may sell it for a small profit and get the mark 1 16610LV.
