This is why they are in the window and not on someone's wrist. I do wonder how much of this price hype is warranted - I'm not aware of anybody who has paid £16k for a ceramic Daytona (at least nobody seems ready to admit to it) and meanwhile the ones that are available for sale at that price sit unsold. I just sold two Daytona-C's to the UK ...and I only asked 12.400 pounds each..now that I see they command 16.000 pounds each - I fully understand why my buyer was "begging" to close the deal fast ...ha ha ha |

You are not far off from my experience, a couple of colleges have picked up around 13k from a London dealer. |

Saw a SS GMT (black) at Mappin & Webb Chester today.
Grey dealer close by had a sub LV in the window but at a 1k premium. |

This is what I mean. I've seen a few forum claims to have sold them for £12.5k but never seen anyone admit to paying £16k (or claiming to have sold one for that). Someone earlier made a good point - if anyone actually does pay £16k then they probably have no idea about the RRP and aren't likely to hang out discussing things on watch forums. That's quite a display they have going on. Too bad those watches are in a shop window and not on wrists.

Valid point, when your earning £100k per week and upwards of that for the two big teams in the area. I wouldn't think they would blink at those sort of prices. Mind you they are likely to walk straight into an AD and get one at RRP instantly anyway.

I nearly bought an LVc from the grey dealer you mentioned in April last year, decided to hang fire as it was only £300 below retail, a week later managed to get one from Mappin & Webb BNIB my name on the card. Definitely would not be paying over RRP.

Sorry to go a bit off topic, but anyone in the Canary Wharf area could do worse than visit watches of Switzerland. They have a gmt LN, deep sea, air king, both tt subs, tt gmt and various others. First time I've seen a ss gmt in a window for ages....

Seems to be a real shortage of sports models in the U.K. In general

Anyone know where I can pick up a Sub no-date without a 3-6 month wait, near or close to London?? I cannot believe it, struck out at 5 different stores.

great info on Rolex availability in uk so far. First post on the forum. I Will be in London in end of May /early June. Looks like no chance of picking up a BLNR there ): . I have a DJ2 in black dial , may be will pick up a exp 2 polar.
What sort of discount can I expect on exp 2 or op 39 ? Sorry if I offend anyone as my first post - already asking of the discount. Thanks Gents - great forum. |

What's availability like on the GMT II LN in general? My local ad just got one in, it's a flip between that now or hes saying up to 6 months for a date sub.

Lol 6 months for a date sub. I think everyone who works at an AD is also known as Michael Fish.

Unfortunately I've not heard of any BLNR's I did have a call on one just over a week ago but didn't know anyone after one. I know a few AD's who haven't got a waiting list on these but they do still sell within days of being in the window and they are all located north London areas so a trek for you. |
