Newer clasps are better featured, but I'd take the old tuna can clasps any day for durability.

I've worn a Rolex nearly everyday for 10 years+ and still have never broken a bracelet.

My wife's first Rolex had a jubilee bracelet with an older clasp like this picture below and it often came loose while she wore it so she sold it.

Are any of the links secured with screws? If so could it have been worked on without applying loctite?

Outside of springbars, the clasp is the more common failure point on any bracelet. A weld, a pin, a blade hinge...any are susceptible to human error during fabrication.
What you don't see are hundreds of reports of failures. With the millions sold, I'd peg Rolex at nearly "Five-9's" reliability in this department. That is, 1 such situation per 100,000 made.

Yes, I have seen a pix of a weld failure on a new Rolex bracelet but the weld construction didn't look like the one pictured.
The one I saw had been welded across the full face and did not have the pin/hole.

Do you have more pix of that bracelet?

Quite true but Rolex soon remedied that fault, but speaking for the old style case never heard of one of those failing.

Verdict; Unnatural causes. If it's even real it appears to have been neglected and in a state of squalor.

Color me impressed!
I have never seen that, and I had fallen with my watch at a Mexico street (slipped on truck (camión oil) oil residues , the full show, but my watch took it like a champ ( non C sub date 1990)...

Nothing is perfect, there can be manufacturer issues with any brand whether a good brand or bad brand stuff like this happens with Bmw's and Benz all the time with there first year models doesn't mean there a bad company or low quality. If the company take care of the problem and changes there design so it does not occur in further production is what makes them a great company.

Anybody "worried" doesn't understand or have direct experience with the brand or bracelet. Possible troll situation?

This has happened to me on my GMT IIC recently hence me finding this thread, and there are others too, exactly the same weak point on the bracelet.
Thanks, Michael

The finish on that bracelet looks questionable.

The finish is questionable, its a very poor design and in my opinion, I am looking into this a bit more, but the spot welds in the OP photo are the issue, I am not sure if a particular model is affected but 2008 GMT IIC seems to suffer.
Thanks, Michael

The new bracelet with glidelock is the last bracelet I would worry about. What bracelet system is better???

of all the things to be worried about, this isnt one of them. 4 people per year die in vending machine accidents (more than from sharks). Dont ask me how, but they do. So basically more people are killed while trying to get a bag of chips than people who have their bracelet fall off. Think about that the next time you need a snack.
