Loving these 5 digit references. Here are some pics :=)

114270 full set unpolished V serial
16570 full set unpolished V serial
16610lv full set nos Z serial
And the blnr :)

I know the explorer is not technically 5 digits but I think it wears like them and very well could be at 36mm. These older pieces have given me a brand new appreciation for Rolex watches.

5 Digits will continue to become more desirable - more so now than before.

5digit is nice. The bracelets feel cheap tho which is why I'm a 6-digit fan. Nice pics

Yep....I think the more Rolex holds back on newer releases (lack of Coke/Pepsi GMT in stainless etc) in terms of digging on nostalgia....the more 5 digits will get out of control in terms of desirability. Cool shot OP.

why does everyone love 5 digit so much all of a sudden? 6 digit is light years ahead (clasp especially)

I tried every 6 digit sports model and got in this game as the 5 digits were fazing out around 2010 so I wanted to see what I missed. In my opinion I missed the last generation of Rolex tool watches. I can forgive the clasp becaause it is thin and comfortable and has around 7 holes of adjustment........7.........you need to buy a submariner with glidelock to get anywhere near that these days. Highly underestimated feature on these older models.

i like having the adjustability on the fly. That's my only rationale for not going with a 5 digit...

If it wasn't for that, there are a few I would like.

Even when I had my 16622 and a 16613, I just couldn't get A good fit

the glidelock is amazing. However, do you guys actually use it regularly? I don't think I've ever actually used it, nor have it ever changed the holes on my kermit. I just "set it and forget it"

Was actually gonna say, get you a bowl full of that (in response to Loevhagan's pic)....but quoted the wrong post. I'm liking your latest collection iteration as well.

It's the design. Many (myself included) greatlly enjoy the aesthetics of the older models. I even love the styling of the old clasp. The modern pieces are beautiful in their own way, but are much flashier, and that's why I find myself holding back on the 6 digit sports models.

At the end of the day it's purely personal preference, there is no right or wrong and they are all great watches.
