Daytona C & Active Lifestyle

I know this sounds like a foolish question, but it the daytona suitable for an active lifestyle as a one watch? I don't know why but I consider chronos fragile, non swim and high maintenance? How does it compare to something like a sub given that the user won't dive with it?

Active lifestyle consists of Gym,Beach/Pool, running, office, traveling, etc.

Thanks!

The Daytona can go wherever you go and do whatever you do. it will be fine. Its a great daily wearer with no issues.

Absolutely up to the task.

Perhaps even more so than a submariner (besides the depth rating)

The Daytona has more resilient technology in their movement than the long in the tooth submariner movement.

3135 vs 4130 I believe.

We are on a shuttle bus righ now and no issues at all. :)

The sub has a steel bezel protecting the ceramic insert. The Daytona doesn't. That's the vulnerable spot if you ask me.

I live a very active lifestyle; was flying almost every week. I Run or swim or play tennis, basketball, or some sport almost every day. Go out for dinner or drinks or dates with my friends and/or potential future girlfriends most evenings in known or random cities, at known or random places from the best of the best to the best of the worst (I am looking at you Taco Bell). Black tie. Business Suits. Business casual. Workout gear. Lazy Sunday gear. Nothing. Riding motorcycles, scooters, snowmobiles, jet skis, snowboarding, you get the point by now...

This watch has pretty much been through a lot in ~8 months and has rarely left my wrist.

No problems. Keeps good time! Very minor scratches, even on the PCLs which if you at them, they scratch, nothing that couldn't be lightly polished out.

My two concerns are crystal and ceramic perimeter chipping, no protection.

Thank you guys for confirming that I was wrong comparing Daytona to other chronos, it's the perfect move from my YM. Ill be dropping by my AD soon to put my name on a list for a white face, thankfully I'm in no hurry.

Why, he's just driving a car around an oval track?

Nope. Rolex sports watches are not meant for an active lifestyle. The 904L stainless steel, parachrom hairspring, etc - it's all just an expensive gimmick. Lock it in the safe and only wear with a suit.

I wouldn't think the watch could withstand tennis. To me that's the ultimate punishment on a watch with all of the sudden arm movements. Glad to know the movement can withstand that.

Rolex watches are tanks. My Explorer II accompanied me during my time as a flight surgeon in the Navy, withstood abuse as a resident, I take it surfing. You'll be fine.

I can't imagine any Rolex not being durable for everyday use.

This forum needs more people like you, it feels like lately most people are afraid to wear their Rolex in the shower. Thank you for your service
