Decisions, decisions...

So I sold my prior SD4k (which I liked a lot) and bought a new SD43mm from a trusted seller. While there are many things I love about it the redesign, I found it far too heavy for me to wear comfortably. It is a damn heavy watch IMO, like a lead brick on my wrist.

So... now I don't know what to replace it with. I'd like a Daytona C but to get one, I'd have to add serious cash to the SD43.

In thinking of this option, I've also realized that for the same kind of cash, I could actually buy a new SubC and pick up a DJ 41 (which I like a lot but wouldn't want as an "only" watch).

I am really torn on the right move here.

If you liked the SD4k I would bite the bullet and just buy that watch again.

You won't have any trouble unloading the SD43, so if it's not working out, now's the time to move it on.

The sub-c/DJ41 option is a good one, or heck...just get the SDk back as stated above.

I like your option. I don't have good memories of buying any watch back.

At least on chrono24 both SD 43 and Daytona C are going for the same price range. Why do you think you will lose big money selling the SD 43?

That seems to be the consensus of my trusted seller whom I worked with on the purchase. It is not so much that I'd loose so much on the SD but that the Daytona is selling for a lot more.

Just no. The pricing of the sd43 has been falling sharply in the secondary market (simple supply and demand).

OP make a decision sooner than later and move on while the watch is still hyped. Sorry to hear it didn't work out.

Sell the sd43 while it's still a hot item prices will start coming down before the Daytona will

The wait lists address no where as long for the sd43 compared to the Daytona

SD43s appear to be coming consistently and quickly unlike the Daytona after more than a year being announced

Buy back a sd4k. It is an awesome watch

Daytona is a great watch, but not sure it's what I'd want for my one and only.

SubC/DJ combo is awesome....you get sporty and dressy(er) in a nice pair. I don't think I could pass that up. For me it'd be a 36mm DJ as I dont care for the larger styles at all even with my 7.75" wrists. I have a SubC and love it and would love to add a 36mm DJ next in white or silver dial. Then I'd have a great classic black dial sports watch and a classic light colored dial dress/casual watch....either of which is suitable in just about any situation.

Same here, unless you can get a D5 at retail.

Go for the two. You will experience two new watches and can always switch up from that if they dont 'stick' with you!

Go for the two watch options. I prefer the 114060.

Thanks again for all those who responded with advice. I traded "down" to a SubC as I just find it much more comfortable to wear than the new SD43 and not willing to pay the crazy 4-5k markup on a Daytona C.

Now am waiting for the new Skydweller in steel to come out - that will be my second piece and if it proves hard to get, DJ 41 blue dial with fluted bezel on oyster prof bracelet is the fall-back

Go with the option you came up with. Daytona still under the 'hype' and you'll overpay.
