Icon14 Unboxing of the LVc Sub. "The hulk" is a stunner.

I want to apologize as photobucket has restricted bandwidth so I had to get set up at Picturetrail.
The LVc has landed and its a stunner. Its been said before but pics dont do this watch justice. Its dial is right up there with the bluesy sunburst. It screams Rolex from 20 feet away much like the bluesy.

As a recap, I traded my 20 year old bluesy in for a new 2017 116610LV Green sunburst Submariner (The Hulk). It was purchased new from DavidSW. From the white tags and bezel protector, its as fresh from Rolex as it gets (crispy new). Watch was sent over night from Dan and David and arrived in perfect condition. Warranty card was filled out in my name for June 2017.

I first set the time and noted it as I always do a accuracy check on a new watch.
I then put the LVc under a macro for any defects. Bezel lines up, nothing on the dial, Bezel moves smooth as silk, Crown screws in and activates each position precisely, etc...

Next is the resizing. The Glidelock makes resizing idiot proof compared to my old TT Sub with the tuna clasp. I removed two links, slid the glide lock in the middle of the clasp and it was perfection on the wrist. My goodness is there a difference in the new bracelet and glidelock over the classic Subs with hollow links. I noticed this with my new DJII as the clasp are smooth and solid. The divers safety catch on the Subs clasp has zero play and moves as if in a hydraulic fluid. That is the Rolex tactile quality

Now to take the stickers..."Hulk not like stickers on sexy body"

I see there is a additional plastic foil over watches with PCL but not on the Subs brushed bracelet. Still quite a bit of stickers.

Lume was outstanding.

Ah yes...That sexy Rolex green sunburst.

Crown is in the 7 o'clock position when tight. Very smooth tube threads when screwing it in. Nothing gritty or notchy.

I think the Green dial changes colors than the bluesy in different lights. From black to every shade of green.

I was expecting alot and the LVc "Hulk" surpassed it.

Now to kick back, stare at the watch and have a celebratory cigar.

Excellent watch - congratulations. I love the unboxing and commentary, I was re-living my own unboxing experience as I read your thread!

Also, you just made me put away tomorrow's watch (GMT) and set my own LVc ready for the morning. Well done!

Beautiful! I've yet to see one in the wild, I definitely want to see in person as they look amazing in pics and everyone always mentions pics don't do this watch justice. Enjoy and congratulations again!

Thanks everyone. Getting a static shot of the green LVc is very difficult. Its like trying to hit a moving target. It is so multi dimensional and like trying to take a accurate pic of a prism. If I get a good pic of the dial, then the bezel isnt accurately shown. In person everything is magical. You hear it alot but pics dont do this green sunburst dial justice. I will try over the next few weeks to capture it. Much like the blue sunburst, I cant see how anyone could get bored of the green sunburst. Iconic "Rolex Green". I look at the face of the watch in the sun and forget to see what time it is..... The "Hulk" is a accurate name as not just because its color is green but by how fast the face changes from black to green with the flick of the wrist.

Very nice mate and big congrats... I'm on the fence but seriously considering one. You replaced your 16613 with a beauty.
