Sadly gone on July 10th after 18 years of loving service to our family; a friend to all she met.

Sorry for your loss. She is beautiful. Is she a chow chow?

Look at her adorable ponytails. She is so precious. It's so hard losing a furry member of our family.

Thank you both for sharing your sweet pictures here.

Mostly Chow; the vet thought 100%. She was the gentlest dog I've ever known.

I'm shocked at how much I loved her and how much it hurts to not have her. 7 months, 16 days, 18 hours that she's been gone. My daughter designed a tattoo of her footprint, stylized into a 4-leaf clover. Ginger was born on St. Patrick's Day. I found a tattoo parlor that would mix a bit of her ashes into the ink so she's with me forever.

No, it's a Kelpie, but they reputedly were interbred with dingos, although I'm not sure that has been proven.

Awww this just breaks my heart how you are hurting.

I understand how you are feeling. It is always so hard for me too. But when I bring a new pup into my home it really does helps the grieving some.

Maybe there is another little sweet Shih Tzu out there wanting to be spoiled by you and your daughter

Shih Tzus are like having a real baby :) So much fun. I love grooming mine each day and putting bows in his hair even if mine is a boy :)

Bandanas don't work for him since he has a long beard.

My boy loves playing with his tiny yellow tennis balls. I love how he retrieves it and puts it back right in the palm of my hand.

Thanks for sharing your story...

Thanks for your story too! Gives me hope there is life after Ginger. Right now we have my mother in law's Shih-Tzu, Madison. Not as boisterous as my Ginger but still cute and loving. And she's yet ANOTHER little dog that made ME her bitch. I'm weak and can't say no to dogs.

Ha!! Yeah! We always do! Jyp loves frisbee over the river, as he gets to run, swim, and 'herd'! All of his favourite activities at one time!

I feel for you (and unfortunately know what it's like). Beautiful dog, and 18 years...just fantastic.

Go and get a puppy....sooner the better.
