WWII watches anyone?
So I've been doing alot of homework on WWII watches. Anyone have any pieces to share?
I'm trying to get a nice A11. The B-uhr looks intriguing but would hate to sport it as I'm sure it's not pc though I doubt anyone would notice. A WWW would be awesome but seems harder to find. Anyone else know where to get one outside of eBay? Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk |

Hold out for a 1943 Bulova A-11 in a sterling silver case a much nicer watch. Or if you really want the grail WW2 aviators watch try to find a Hamilton FSSC 88-W-800, white dial were for the Marine Corp and black was for the Navy. The Hamilton was a 18 jeweled 2987 movement , real nice !

There is a 43 Bulova on eBay right now I'm bidding on. But not sure if it's the silver case.

Talk about 2 different watches.
One is 31mm and will run between $200-300 The other is 54mm and will run you $5,000- 10,000 depending on maker and condition. Sent from my XT1650 using Tapatalk |

Here is my WWII Seikosha bomber watch.
Much harder to find than B-uhr I'm my opinion. I have seen a few slight variations, most have a coin edge bezel. |

Both are the same size. The FSSC will run $375-500 for a good one.

I assumed he was talking about an original B-uhr, if it was not "politically correct".

Wow that seikosha is gorgeous. I'm drooling... hell it's hard to even find good pictures of one.
Is that Pierce an RAF watch? Man I'm getting more and more jealous. The B-uhr I like is the one with the minutes on the outside and the hours on a little circle inside. Think it's a bomber watch. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk |

So, were you looking at the original B-uhr watches, or the Laco reissue?
Usually I am a vintage guy, but if i was going to buy a watch for everyday wear, I would go with the Laco reissue over the A-11. I prefer the size and believe that the Laco would be more reliable. |

I don't think the Laco reissue, really has the PC stigma that you had mentioned.
Of course I wouldn't have cared if it was an original, for that matter. |

WWII watches
Try coolvintagewatches.com
Good shop I visit often. They have many vintage watches, the selection of WWII watches fluctuates. |

Since BCW23 only has one post I will vouch, John at coolvintagewatches is a good guy.

I checked out the site. Looks like a great resource.
Like always TRFers educate me to spend more money! I went from a basic A11 but now im working my way up to buying a WWW. I think the size at 38mm would be more ideal. I like the FSSC too. EBay looks a lil thin these days. I need to find better sources. |

I picked up a seikosha pocket watch. Mostly cuz it looked unique. It was fairly inexpensive. Now I'm thinking it's probably fake. I'll post some pics when I receive it.
First I thought why would anyone fake a watch no one buys? Then I'm like I just. Bought it. Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk |
