Rotor customisation by Audemars Piguet

All,

I understand that Audemars Piguet offer a rotor customisation programme. May I ask if anyone is able to share additional information and perhaps their personal experience of this programme (perhaps including pictures of the customised rotors)? In particular, I would be interested in the price of various designs (as I understand this is based on the complexity), whether it is true that this service is offered free of cost for boutique customers and whether one has the option of returning to the original rotor (perhaps at the time of service)?

Thanks!

Anecdotally, I've heard from around $3k to $7k, depending on if you're just using initials for the rotor, or a custom design (e.g. logo, crest, etc)

I believe another fellow member asked about this customization before. I don't have any experience, but Eric Ku had his 15202 customized (rotor).

Cheers!

I was quoted $7300 USD and 4 months lead time by AP NY.

This was for initials on a 15202st and that figure is in addition to retail price of course.

Wow, they changed the dial too. I wonder if they would've just added the blue date wheel to the older model?

AFAIK its available on the 15202 and RO PC. Both of those rotors are the same and different than a 3120 rotor. AP's website does note that this is possible on the page for both the 15202 and PC. I don't know if it is available on all models or just those based on the ultra thin movement as the 15202 and PC I think are both based on the same base movement. Im sure with the high complications though they would probably do it if requested.

If i ever get a 15202 Im doing it for sure.

I'm sure the ROC is an option, but you are going to have to take their word for it that they did it.

Exactly. A little too rich for me. $7300 to have my initials on a rotor that I will barely see? I don’t have it like that.

i would not do it for a piece i might flip and it would 100% have to be a keeper. So for one that is getting passed down its more than worth it as it would become more special especially for the person who would get it someday.

Im a sucker for getting stuff monogrammed though.

I could just tell everyone it's done regardless

I'm actually going to see if I can find a 15202st to view, I've only ever seen the 15400 blue so want to see how the 15202 dial differs I've heard it's more of a muted blue, typically I'm not a fan of blue dial watches but I may let it pass to add one.

Another option but guessing I'm not high enough up the importance ladder to get a custom 15202st with black dial commissioned.

but alas, for better or worse, I am mostly anonymous.

I have seen only one like this. Really don't understand why they don't offer the 15202 in black, or even white. I'd even take it in the new grey dial.

Just in case of use to anyone since I am going through the process, at least as of 2022, custom rotor or 15202 or 26572 is possible (don't know about 16202, but presumably anyone that has a 16202 probably doesn't want to take the 50th rotor off). Quoted starting price range of 5200 + partial service for water proof/seal again. And then price goes up from there depending on complexity after the artisan evaluates request.

Answer is a solid “no” for all 50th rotors. They will however engrave between the bolts on back. Costs me $900. $500 for engraving and $400 for “water resistance” testings.

I have a custom rotor on mine, which was as far as I know, and the boutique mentioned the last delivered 15202ST in march of this year. It was something like 4k ish for my little dinosaur logo and sine qua non on top of it. Process does take a while, and I hear there's a ton of interest in the program now, but its so amazingly cool and unique.
