Beverly Hills Rolex Service Center Open

don't know if this has already been covered, but the BH service center is open for business again. i was there today to have my watch checked out (no charge). rep said turn around is about three weeks. ~$600 or so depending on situation.

just a heads up for those in the greater LA area so you don't have to send your watch away, just drop it off in person. everything is done at location, in-house.

same building, same address.

Is this the one that used to be on Bundy near Olympic? Had one serviced there almost 20 years ago.

no, it's off of Wilshire + Beverly Dr. a couple blocks from the Rodeo Dr. shopping area.

can't miss it, big "Rolex" sign on wall. i think the entire building is owned by rolex.

I think it was closed because of a lack of watchmakers available(retired). Good to see it back in business.

Wow!

It shutdown in 2008 or 2009 and now it's open again! Great news.

I had my GMT II bezel insert changed there in Sept, 2004 while in LA for a business trip. Staff were great there.

Good to know!

I know when I bought my GMT-IIc at Geary's in December, they told me their watchmaker came from the Rolex RSC in BH. Didn't know it was open again.

Sorry to go OT, but there's an Omega Service Center in West LA? I can't find it on the Omega website, but I see it here: http://chronomaddox.com/omega_authorized_service.html

Is it that Walter Gooden, Inc.?

Thanks!

I don't think Walter Gooden has anything to do w/ the Swatch place, they took over his old spot on Bundy in W.L.A.

does anyone know if they would do warranty work there? or would they just evaluate it and then send to New York or something?

As recently as last month, they told me that they would do all the work that they could (including warranty), but would send other jobs to RSC Dallas. I have the impression that eventually they will have a pretty full service routine there, but with fewer watchmakers on staff. Fewer than before they closed.

Walter C. Gooden, Jr. died September 15, 2009 (Google "Walter C. Gooden); posted in LA Times; operation sold to Swatch, moved? Don't know if new BH SC is related.
