Super annoyed at scratch
Less than a week old, WG Daytona
Scratched the bottom left corner on a stone table edge whilst I was at a restaurant today. What are my options? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I scratched the clasp of my 519LN the first week I had it as well. Was very annoyed. Life goes on. First one is always the worst.
Let it go. |

Ignore it. You will care less about it in a week. I did that while wearing my YM and playing with my dog and her collar rubbed on the bracelet. Was mad for a second and then I saw her goofy face and forgot how unimportant the cause of the scratch was.

Nothing. The watch is ruined now. Might as well throw it out.

Thanks for the swift replies.
Think a SS for daily would be a good idea. Once the scratches get too many, do I repolish and replate? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

For what it’s worth you can’t even see it in the picture. Wear the hell out of it and enjoy!

To be honest, I know it hurts but this is not the first injury your clasp will take if you wear your watch. You could let it take a few more and then have a jeweler buff it out for you very easily. I do get it though, the first couple always hurt. but hey; at least you made it!

I think I know someone who will take it off your hands at cost. PM me. Seriously though, PCLs are scratch magnets. If it really bothers you, don't daily it. They are easy to polish out when you get too many. |

Cape cod or a scratch removal pen
My understanding is Rolex don’t plate their white gold.

You are in for a long road ahead with a WG watch. The faster you are at peace with minor scratches, the better.

I would leave it. Everytime you get a scratch and you polish it out you'll have a highly over polished clasp very soon. I would leave it till service time.

I know it sucks man, we've all been there. And it will seem annoying to you for a bit of time... until the next scratch comes in. And the next one, and the next one, and the swirls all over the polished surface. And if it still bothers you in the coming years, off to service she goes anyway!

We’re all just polishing brass in the titanic. Learn to like scratches.

Got mine 10/10/2020 scratched the clasp on 13/10/2020... I don't care much about it, many more will come.

The clasps will always pick up literally any mark. Hell, on another watch that has polished flanks, I have small spider-web style marks from my shirt.

Embrace it. You will see it forever. It's something about that first one, you will always remember it and know where it is.
