Collection update

I have a thread on the general “non-Rolex” sub forum where I’ve tracked the progression of
My collection over the past few years.

https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=744793

It’s been quite a journey! Since my current collection is heavily Patek, I thought I’d continue the thread here. For the moment, I’m trying to stay at a max of 16 pieces, so I recently moved my Glasshütte SeaQ to add the 5968g. Here they are… Not sure what’s next!

Omega Seamaster 300
Rolex Explorer 214270
321 Speedmaster “Ed White”
5167a
6007a
5711/1a
5164a
5712/1a
5712r
5968g
5960g
Journe QP
5172g
5320g
Journe CO
5270p

Impeccable Taste

A really fine collection reflective of a refined and discerning focus. Has to be one of the best I have seen in a long time. Very well done and thank you for sharing it.

Truly what’s on my list are 5212, 5740 then maybe something like a 5078.

It was a great piece. I didn’t expect to land the 5968g so soon tbh. Decision came down to moving the Seamaster, SeaQ or Explorer. SeaQ offered some brand diversity but I didn’t like the non-tapered bracelet and wore it exclusively on NATO.

Needless to say how impressed I am with your collection but to someone with those kind of pieces I always have 2 questions:

1 - you already answered... what will be next one in if you could choose
2- which is your favourite and is there any that barely has any wrist time

I agree.
Grand Complications is the answer :)
What do you think of 6102 r or p ??

I really love 5236P but I do not know when thats coming out. My first watch in Grand Complications is 5320G. Arriving this week, hopefully!!! And 5270P which might be arriving early next year.

Very nice!

A bit of overlap I would probably sort out but amazing pieces all around.

Lots of great stuff in a beautiful box!

If I am not mistaken you picked most of the Pateks over the past 12-18 months. What was the trigger to (seemingly suddenly) go all in?

Just curious as I am one of those guys who like to have a few nice watches (a handful typically) but who'd be overwhelmed by a large collection.

Agree. I occasionally kick around consolidating the the 5167 and 5712/1a into something else (as I prefer the 5164 and 5711) but it’s a tough trigger to pull because they’re irreplaceable from my AD and they appreciate that I haven’t moved any of the “hot” watches allocated to me.

It was a combination of professional life developments making it financially possible and building a couple of AD relationships that made the allocations possible.

That said, I’ve owned a handful of Pateks in the past. I wore a 5066 for years and had a 5146j for a long time and a 5726/1a for a bit before my recent splurge.

Beautiful collection for sure. Adding a 5524 pilot travel time would cap it off and cover the bases, so to speak.
