I wore this...

... too bad it didn’t make the film any better. The least favorite of the Daniel Craig installments IMO (hard to believe it would overtake Q of S at bottom).

Thanks! Certainly one of my favourites. The one photographed (2225.80) was purchased in 2016 as a treat to myself for surviving a battle with viral meningitis. I seem to recall it also being a 30th birthday present to myself along with the Spectre Blu Ray. That version photographed had no warranty cards and accessories. It was traded towards my 116710LN GMT Master II but two years ago I found a full set 2225.80 purchased originally from a local AD and I won the auction. Sent it for a factory service and will now keep it for life with all else in my collection. It's amazing how every watch tells a story.

I will wear the only watch that can be claimed as the Bond watch, the Rolex Submariner.

One only needs to read the original books by Ian Fleming to understand this.

All other makes and models are just a marketing strategy to sell watches at a premium price and have no connection to the original character.

LOL, it was never a Submariner in the books.

And although the model was never specified in the books, the author Ian Fleming was known to wear an Explorer 1 which might have been a closer point of reference than a Sub.

The Sub was introduced into the Bond legacy when the director took his personal watch off his wrist to loan to Sean Connery for a prop, so really no more connection to "Bond" than any other watch through the years beyond that early association in the movies, and that other various generations and models of the Submariner were used in a few more Connery, Moore and Dalton episodes along with other makes including Gruen and Seiko.

Various models of Omega Seamasters have featured prominently and exclusively on the movie Bond's wrist for almost 20 years now, beginning with Brosnan in 1995's Golden Eye through the final Craig release.

Really don't understand this attitude... As others have said, the books NEVER specified his watch.

And for all intents and purposes, Omega have been the supplier of timepieces for these films for 20+ consistent years. So, Omega are every bit a part of Bond as Rolex as you suggest...

Sorry, the books did state Rolex.

https://commanderbond.net/9409/found...nds-rolex.html

The greatest detail comes in his eleventh book, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, published in 1963. Here we read of the “big luminous numerals” that Bond sees when taking a lazy midnight glance at his chronometer, “a heavy Rolex Oyster Perpetual on an expanding metal bracelet.” The watch is a Rolex Explorer I.

Absolutely. A 1016, as Fleming wore.

I wasn't specific enough in my comments. I was implying that they didn't specify a specific model. I did not mean for anyone to infer that they didn't state Rolex. Poor wording on my part.

I got into watches because of the introduction of Omega watches in he Bond films. Loved the gadget Seamasters in the Brosnan films. But it wasn’t until Daniel Craig uttered “Omega” in Casino Royale that I would seriously consider one.

So while I have a Submariner, I’ll be wearing the Omega Seamaster 300 from Spectre. I love that watch even more than the Submariner.

I wore the same one. I am fond of the fact that they only made 7,007 of them.

Oh, I definitely didn't have enough money to swing at the actual Spectre edition of the Seamaster 300. I just have the regular version, but I love it all the same. However, I love the real Spectre limited edition with the lollipop hand, too.

I'm hoping to see the movie tomorrow with my wife.

It's the same thing. Amazing watch. I considered getting yours and sourcing a lollipop hand.

Finally saw the movie last night. I wasn’t a big fan of the ending. But it’s been a great 15 year run.
