A red sub would be high on the list, then a 1016 explorer and/or a 1675 gmt. The SS vintage sport stuff will do better for value than the older DJ and DD will.

$50k in a vintage investment piece? To me, vintage is best bought cheap and not expensive. Full gold 16758 Concord would be my choice. But even that’s probably not a $50k watch.

None of those watches are special. They were mass produced for years and are and will continually be available to the lowest bidder.

No guarantee that any vintage Rolex (especially at that price point) will increase in value considering current market prices.

You will be old and gray by the time any real returns are realized.
If you'd like to park $50k, double it and pickup a 6542

..and Welcome. Enjoy the watches and not the money behind them.

The "investment" part of rule 4, part (iv), is irrelevant these days..... sadly.

No doubt, didn’t read it or care, jumped right in for investment advice and hopefully gets the message. TRF ain’t about investments and instead is about enthusiasts imo….

Anything pre-2019 is guaranteed 8-17% YoY appreciation, even at street retail’s 25-75% markups.

Just do your own research. Are you really going to take advice seriously on how to invest 50k on a watch from an internet forum

There are over 700 1680’s and 700 1675’s listed on chrono24. How is that a special watch? It’s not like people are going to start mistreating these watches now. They are beautiful vintage pieces don’t get me wrong, but a special investment piece, my asshole says no.

I’d say the rail dial Sea Dweller would be a good one. Not saying it’s a good investment piece just a neat fairly uncommon watch.

listings on chrono don't mean they have the watch. greys can "list" a watch with a default photo while not actually having it in stock and then go find one if a customer pays for it. how many of those 1400 are actual real photos? that'll give you a better sense of how many are out there
