Omega Constellation without Emblem on Caseback

Hello, All:

I recently came across an Omega Constellation 14K which did not have the Geneva observatory engraved on the case back. I questioned the seller about this and his response was that these were made custom ordered without the emblem engraving if the buyer so chose (where the buyer thought the engraving was uncomfortable on the wrist). Is this correct? I am not able to find anything online to corroborate this theory.

Any help/advice is much appreciated.

Thanks!
