Everyone needs to relax here.

I've gotten some great advice and it looks like this may be resolved soon. I don't want anyone to get in trouble. I should have done my homework more thoroughly but I didn't. All I want is my money back and no BS like I got when the watch was described.

Like I said, it looks like a solution is at hand. Stay tuned and THANK YOU to everyone for your concern and help.

If a seller, a regular seller, isn't a pledge member I don't inquire about their items. I prefer to wait for someone who gives back to the site rather than simply uses it. Yeah I know I let my pledge status expire but come January I will be a pledge member again. I don't now if the seller alluded to here is a pledge or not and my comment is not directed towards any particular seller but rather my point of view in buying from someone here.

Thanks Dan, I'll let you know. Once I get this mess sorted out I'm in the market for a black sub. I'd offer to trade but it's like... you know

I agree... I should have been more careful. I just got complacent after years of excellent experiences here.

..... also, beware the member whose sole participation is FS, bump, bump bump, bump bump bump, rinse and repeat.

The occasional "thanks TRF" and a $25 yearly pledge hardly improves matters.

Perhaps some day there will be a tread entitled "Tips for buying on TRF" and after this I'm sure I'd have a lot to contribute.

I have stated in many private emails between the buyer and myself that I would fully refund his money once he ships the watch back to me.

Regards,
Richard

And as I told you and everyone here, you are a repeat dishonest seller and there is absolutely nothing preventing you from keeping the watch and all or part of the money.

I have even offered to do a face to face return which you have refused.

If you were an honest seller I would not hesitate to return the watch, but you have proven repeatedly that you are dishonest.

I only came here asking for advice and did not mention your name but now that you are here everyone knows who you are and it won't take long before everyone knows you are a dishonest seller.

I would hate to be that buyer who has to be the one in fifty that has a bad deal with that seller.

I think Czechman's feedback for him was written right after he got the watch. But if you read this thread again, Czechman's situation is about the watch running 15 seconds fast per day, which can not be noticeable right away.

As I said earlier, this situation should be posted on the who's who section. If you go by the first page only on the seller's feedbacks, you wouldnt see the other problem he had with another buyer.

This is a good thread but being polite is better.

Well, one never digs deep enough...

Nevertheless, there is a post from "upstairs" (Welshwatchman) that leads you to believe that everything had been sorted out. I am referring to:

"I've already removed his current offerings.

We have to consider the well being of the membership.

As for future listings ... we'll cross that bridge at the point that he feels that it's appropriate to list any."

At this point I'm on the seller's side. First, buyer/seller should have agreed on the terms of the return policy. If this has not been done than I believe it's a common practice that buyer have to return the merchadise first to get the full refund. Another question arises, why would buyer agree to send wire from the beginning if he doesn't fully trust a seller? just my 2 cents.

You are correct. When I first got the watch I set it and didn't think anything of it. After all, it was advertised as "keeping time properly with no mechanical issues". Then a couple days later I checked and the watch was so far off I thought I must have set it wrong. So I reset it to Official US Time and came back the next day and sure enough it was 15 seconds fast.

I am working behind the scenes to see if this can be rectified in a manner that does not expose me to more losses by this dishonest seller. If none of those efforts come to fruition I will post my experiences in the Who's Who.

Like I've already said, I only came here looking for advice and not to out this guy. He outed himself.

As I have said repeatedly if this were an honest individual I would send the watch back in a heartbeat.

This is a dishonest person and there is absolutely nothing that would prevent him from keeping the watch and all or part of the money, weathering the ensuing he-said-she-said and then walking way with everything.

As for why I would trust him, I looked through his Who's Who and MISSED the tell-all story. Furthermore almost every watch listed in my signature was bought and sold here on TRF. I didn't suspect that I had to be so hyper-vigilent.
Did I screw up? Yes.
Did I do anything dishonest? No.

Furthermore return policies are not required to be posted here and after 35 years in business I can assure that there is no such thing as "common practice" in any aspect of business not specifically regulated by law.

Here is my 2 cents on this....

Both sides have a point. But I would like to point out a few things....

Woody, Faingator (i have never dealt with him) I think he will not scam you into not returning your money. If that was his MO, Then as soon as he got the wire, then no watch would have arrived. The only thing is that, he sold you a watch that is running outside COSC standards.

I am not siding with him but I, as a seller myself in our wonderful TRF, would do the same thing of asking for the watch first, inspecting it and then issuing a refund. I would also pay for return shipping and when i refund the money I add the cost of wire transactions.

If you want to pay for shipping send the watch to me and I will have it serviced for you with a full FNFZ4 2 year warranty! FREE OF CHARGE!

I hope this gets resolved in an amicable way. its really dangerous to claim something that is out of our hands. A watch might be running within COSC specs one day and way outside of it the next. I have seen that happen.

Merry Christmas to all of you!

as a reminder... Love... Not War!

Faingator has been on here and sold many items on TRF for a long time. I would send him back the watch if you are not satisfied. If he wanted to rip you off he would have done it after you sent him the wire.

Not everyone rips you off by taking the money and splitting. Whats to say once Woody sends the watch back, faingator says its not in the original condition that he shipped it to him in and decides to deduct from his refund? Not saying he will just playing out a scenario. Ive personally been in a situation like that and its frustrating to say the least.

Woody said he would come down to Florida to do a face to face refund but the seller refused? That seems a little strange. Most every seller on TRF states they welcome a face to face transaction. I think that would be the best solution that way theres no dispute as to the condition of the watch being returned.

Just my .02¢.
