Incoming...bit of blue

Hi all - thought I’d share as picked it up today when in the window at the AD. It’s the Apollo 17 45th anniversary, and I’m not sure I’ve seen one on here yet.

I love it. Not usually a fan of gold, but it’s quite subtle and the blue is dark most of the time and comes to life in the daylight.

The ceramic dial and bezel are great, and while it has sapphire it’s nicely done.

The adjustable bracelet is the nicest I have got (including my Rolexes) and made fitting a doddle. With all the upticks in spec, I think it was pretty good value although very little discount was available.

The box is the usual omega thing, and is a thing of beauty albeit it will be seeing the back of my cupboard....

Lots of pics - hope you like. Cheers, steve

A great early Christmas present, the ceramic dial is stunning and the gold is a nice subtle addition. Do you have photo's of the adjustable clasp and case back

Really bad photos. I will try and get better tomorrow. The clasp doesn’t have a whole lot of adjustment, maybe 3-4mm only but it’s enough to get the perfect fit for me.

Very nice watch. Only Speedmaster I have is the FOIS but I do plan on getting at least 1 LE Speedy someday.

To be honest your photos aren't the only "bad" photos of this watch. I don't think it's photogenic @ all but it is stunning in person. Congrats!

I think you are right. I saw it in the window this morning and loved it. Went home and did a bit of reading and was 50/50. Decided to go and try on and bought it on the spot.

It really is very nice indeed in the metal (I would say that as I bought it), but it’s certainly hard to take photos of. One reason for that is that the dial and bezel constantly change in the light with the gold accents. You have to be pretty lucky to capture the right moment.

White gold? Or are the pics washing it out?

Yellow but case steel obvs. It’s not massively in your face like some, so quite subtle...

This watch has some really well thought out subtle touches and looks great. The Omega ceramic dials are stunning, so I can image that it looks even more impressive in real life. Great choice

Thanks for the nice comments. Yes, it does have some really nice touches and it’s one of those watches that looks better in natural light, when the shine of the ceramic comes through.

I’m really impressed with omega at the moment. I love Rolex watches, but they are becoming impossible to source at a reasonable price and there aren’t that many more that I really want. I know omega release a lot of watches, but they offer something a bit different and the quality is great.

I can see me becoming more of an omega man going forward.

Congrats. Stunning watch in person. Really hard to capture the blue in pictures just like the LVc. Got mine at the eve of Christmas after waiting for 2 months for its arrival at my local OB. Decided to buy Omega after getting tired of the Rolex long waiting list.

Congrats to you also. Yes, it goes from black to a vibrant blue on occasions. It hasn’t come off my wrist since I bought it. Really enjoying this one.

In fact my only slight quibble with the watch is that my bezel is ever so slightly misaligned and I assume it would have been within tolerance leaving the factory. Even my wife agrees.

The bezel needs about 0.25 to 0.5 Mm movement clockwise as the 120 is not dead on the 6oclock mark.

That said, some of the photos I’ve seen online have been worse. I’ll live with it for now but may shove it in at some point for alignment. It can’t be that bad, as I didn’t notice when trying the watch on and buying it!

Did anybody notice the misspelled '' mankind'' on the box?. Curious what Omega will do on those boxes.

I’ve just checked and you are right. Mankind is spelt manking!

I suppose they are all like that....
