Will Omega Service Vintage Watch With Heavy Dial Patina?

Hey Everyone! I’ve been thinking about purchasing a Vintage Omega and I’ve always been a big fan of Patina on the dial which I think gives the watch so much character. Does anyone know if Omega would Service a Vintage Watch That has Patina on it? I ask because I know Rolex is strict about this and will replace the dial and wondered if it’s the same with Omega? Thanks!

take it to a small watch shop, Omega is going to recommend replacing everything. the crown looks a little worn....they will recommend that too. the small shops know you just want a service, they are more personable.

Now if you DID want to replace a number of things: dial, hands, mechanical's, yes Omega would be the place to go.

That's a fantastic effect on that dial! Cool watch.

If you send it to Omega Service in the USA, they'll forward it to Omega's specialty restoration shop in Bienne, Switzerland (where Omega is headquartered). They will evaluate the watch and communicate their recommendations to you. If you decline, then they'll simply return the watch to you.

I'll bet they would leave the dial as-is if you asked them to.

As others have mentioned here, that's probably an ideal candidate for a reputable, independent watchmaker instead.

That is magnificent!!! I would no doubt send to an independent and ask the dial/hands be left alone.

I second the opinions to take it to a good independent (preferably CW21 +). You will want someone you know working on the watch that knows what they're doing and not replace anything. Beautiful watch.
