Youtube vid on Grand Seiko direction in luxury watches

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=RrGOlXtqqZI&t=300s

Also an excellent peek on the new 8 day reserve.
NOTE- you’ll have to bring the video back to the start before viewing... don’t know why ...?
PS- please have patience with his 2 minute random rambling at the beginning... I think it’s worth seeing the rest of the vid.

Thanks for posting. Would have liked to hear more about the movement’s difference from the standard 3 day spring drive, but at least for some views of the dial and back of watch, both of which look gorgeous.

The main difference is 3 barrels in the 8-day, and just a single barrel in the regular SDs.
Also, the only manual wind SD GS – normally that’s something only found in a couple of Credors.
The main plate difference is enhanced rigidity due to the extra torque output from the addition of two further mainsprings.
The landscape outline is also unique, portraying, as mentioned in the video, a silhouette of Mt Fuji, as opposed to Mt Hotaka, which can be seen from the Shijiori Watch Studio, where all the quartz and Spring Drive GSes and Credors are produced.

Awesome, thanks! . I have two SDs and nice to see GS using the tech in watches at this price point.
