Great! Me too I bought two lots on the drop and I'm in the green. I also picked up one lot of CGC. Here's hoping for a green Christmas!

Not a lot of activity on this thread.

Has everyone sold their Cannabis stocks during this current stock market purge?

Currently long aphria and a bit in the red but still holding on!

Bleeding red at a rate I do not want to admit to. Always was thinking long term anyway, but at this price point, looks like my kids may profit from them!

Still in. Cashed out for some profit a month ago or so then recently bought in at the same level again. Small red now on holdings but staying in and still sitting on the cash gain

Still in. Cashed out initial investment several moths ago and letting profits ride but bought some more on the drop about two weeks ago. Still in the black overall.

Here in British Columbia there is currently a very limited supply. Prices paradoxically are at all time lows in the grey market according to media sources. The joke here is - who knew if they wanted to eliminate weed all they had to do was legalize it.

I think a lot of pot was grown in BC before it was legal. Now other parts of the country are taking over the distribution market from BC. Competition has hit the BC pot market lol

I’m long on Canopy and Tilray, however I don’t own a large $ amount in either. My relatively minor investment provides some comfort as I watch both of these decline. I also own a decent amount of Constellation Brands which is being punished for their sizable investment in Canopy. I live less than a mile from Constellation’s HQ and have owned them for over 20 years. They are quite a company.

The export market for B.C. bud has been softening for a couple years now but the ordered closing of many of the pop up and medical stores has really mucked things up across BC and the country. Ontario today announced they are cutting way back on store openings in 2019 due to lack of regulated supply. The grey growers ramped up on legalization and have limited markets for their product as they were supplying the non authorized shops now shuttered. Greys have lots of supply but no direct legal market access. The regulated growers have lack of inventory and limited stores to sell to and store openings are being throttled back due to lack of supply. A viscous circle resulting in cheap prices in grey market and very limited access to pot and stores in the legal market.

These are stats printed today in an article in the Globe and Mail subscriptions, showing legal growers shipments to Ontario and Alberta, same growers who trade publicly with sky high valuations.
“For months, cannabis growers haven’t been shipping what they said they would. On Oct. 17, Ontario had received only 20 per cent of the amount of product it ordered for its online store, said the government source, though fill rates have gotten better recently. On Nov. 17, Alberta had only received 20 per cent of its order.”

Draft edible regulations released, if not significantly changed, will be a disaster. 10 mg per package (not serving)? Not workable.

My brother has quite a bit of Aphria and Canopy. What are some of the American stocks in this sector to look into?

Assuming it isn’t another one of their tricks, which it appears to be. Vic is on the board of Green Growth Brands, so....

I fully expect Aphria to have a credible strategic investment within a month. GBB’s offer is just a stalking-horse offer to put it in play at more elevated shares prices for a much better offer. My feeling is Diageo will be that strategic partner and the pricing level will be in the $12-14 USD range, but only time will tell. Said another way, I would hold what you have or pick up more shares are what is still relatively inexpensive levels.

Peculiar tidbit: Quintessential research, the company behind the Aphria short attack - their website seems to be inexplicably down since yesterday: http://qcmfunds.com/

Canopy entering NYS with hemp production was big news this week.

ACB buying WMM too.

Finally in the green again on my investments. Only a few hundred bucks. But I’m thrilled about it.

What a ride it has been so far. Hope it stays and continues to climb.

How are all the cannabis investors doing? I bought some Aphria for an average price of $5.50 and cashed it in around $6.60 then I got back in at $7.25. I wish I had held onto the original shares. I’m excited for the future. Hopefully Aphria can get a reputable takeover.

Agree.

I just hope it continues.

Hoping this time the value was built on business rather than hype.

Suspect it is more of a run-up prior to a sell the news dump when CGC and ACB finally report earnings on 2/14. Hoping for some multiday continuation from here, but unless CGC knocks it out of the park, we're likely to see a big lull in the sector until either new pro-cannabis legislation happens in the U.S. or actual sales for the big 5 start living up to the hype. Just stay nimble if you don't want to ride the elevator all the way back down, yet again. Tough sector, but if you stay ahead of it, things are a hell of a lot easier. Personally, I'm still holding APHA, MPX, and now a decent chunk of Trulieve. Don't get over here as much as before, but heart-warming to still see other folks continuing to hold the sector.
