Gone to the dark side..Apple Watch
Its so nice. Best feeling= being free from your phone in the ocean sipping a mojito and getting a text/email/walkie talkie. Feel like Dick Tracy
Love my Rollie but this is a whole new level. When is Rolex's answer to the smartwatch game ??? |

I wore mine about a week before I put it away. Turns out i didn't care about the Dick Tracey stuff as much as I thought I would. I like wearing a real watch.
Was going to give it to one of my kids, but they both have new ones already. |

I will stick with enjoying nature with no technological interruptions. Let’s hope Rolex stays in their lane.

I wouldn't want Rolex to create a smart watch. It would be very expensive, I doubt the AD would know how to repair them very well if something went wrong electronically.
And on top of that you would have to charge a Rolex eww Sent from my SM-G950U1 using Tapatalk |

Didn’t realise Apple watches could even get wet.

Be careful, sometimes the watch is smarter than it's owner.

I have tried 3 times. I really want to love them. I do love the idea.
Three times I made someone really happy with a gift when I stopped wearing it.

Bought the series 1 and returned it after 1 week. Bought the series 3 and wore it for s few days and then gave it to my daughter, who has loved it. For me, I prefer mechanical watches. The Apple watch felt to much like of a toy. I can see the benefits for exercise , but I prefer the heft of a watch.

I’m so close to pulling the trigger on one. My justification is something I can wear at the gym, when I’m hiking, and as a travel watch. I was anti-smart watches for such a long time, but the temptation is getting strong.

Gone to the dark side..Apple Watch
Apple provides a smart watch for people.
Rolex provides a watch for smart people. Now I’ve owned both - I was even an early Kickstarter for the original Pebble smartwatch. Unless your life is triple multi-tasking on many levels, you can live without the Apple watch. For me it is freedom from phone tethered activity. My workouts, walks, runs are safely logged and I have telecom if needed even in an emergency. No phone required. Receive and send texts with speech to text and vice versatility with Siri. Music if I want it. Podcasts, too. Tracking heart rate. Scanning for AFIB. Reminders and calendars to keep up with next thing to do. I can even set my COSC Rolex by it. Here’s what I tell Rolex friends - why does anyone wear anything more complicated than a DJ? I mean, do you need a Sub, GMT, YM, Daytona, Sky-Diddy, etc? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Right... That’s why you wouldn’t use it. It should be a function-driven purchase or one will be wasting money. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

When I want to feel like Dick Tracy, I put on a trench coat and fedora.
It's a good look.

I'm exiting the workforce soon. More connectivity is not in the cards and I like my Rolexes more than a miniature iPhone looking device strapped to my wrist.

It’s the honeymoon period. I remember it all too well. It’s a great gadget, but I find it will never replace my mechanical watches.

My phone keeps me as connected as I need to be, as a business owner I’m on it enough (too much) don’t want or need a secondary device

I have two Rolexes sitting in my drawer while my Apple Watch Series 4 sits on my wrist. AW is absurdly comfortable and I really enjoy having date / day / weather / stopwatch right at a glance. I time everything and AW is superior to my rotating bezel on my no date sub. Sub looks great but I love customizing my AW.
Only five years since launch and AW is already the best selling watch in the world; days are numbered for high cost mechanicals. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Why would u want to be getting a text while you are doing all that. Turn off the phone and have fun. Toss the Apple watch in the trash.

No thanks. I’m headed in the opposite direction, and can’t wait to rid myself of the smart phone one day.

Had one, wore it for a few days and ended up selling it. Liked the fitness tracking but didn’t like the fact that I was always “connected” with no downtime from emails/texts. Now, wear a mechanical watch on one wrist and a basic fitness band on the other.
