Hulk or batman?

Hi, I am new to this forum. I am looking for a little advise. I am about to buy my first Rolex and I’m torn between the hulk and the batman. I am buying the watch to keep and wear but I am also mindful of depreciation, does anyone have any advise or opinion into which model is most likely to depreciate less in the coming years? Any advise would be truly appreciated.

I’ve got both and I’d have neither as an only watch.

For gods sake buy the watch you want! Do not worry about depreciation, if you make any money it's a dang bonus. I'm not American by the way so dang should be damn.

It really depends on how much you will beat to death the watch and lose stuff that came with it. If your worried about depreciation either one is fine. Just leave the whole package in a larger lockbox and look to unload in advance of the movement /case changes which may occur.

Don’t worry about depreciation. What’s popular today might not be as popular 5 or 10 years from now. Buy what you like. Personally I like the Hulk the way in certain lighting the color changes. Really nice watch. Can’t go wrong with the BLNR either

BLNR (Batman). It's both more complicated and more versatile for about the same price.

Other possible responses:

Concerned about depreciation, because SS Rolex sports watches have a well-known history of not holding their value over the years?

Sorry, I left my crystal ball at home today.

Who cares...buy the one you like the best.

Good grief

Echo the above advice about not worrying about depreciation. It's a watch.

BLNR.

Batman all day and if were talking movie adaptations, Hulk doesn't even belong in the same category.

Also, is it just me or has there been a serious influx of January 2019 join date accounts who start Investment/Value/Appreciation threads?

OP, welcome to the forum.
Some of us, myself included, really can't stand the childish, silly, comic book names used to describe beautiful engineered watches.

Since everybody wants to jump on the band wagon and get rich by buying a Rolex every other thread starts about value or depreciation. Not a very popular topic amongst watch lovers imo.

If you want a watch to own and grow attached to what difference does it make? Buy the one which gives you the biggest smile when trying them on and don't look back.

Both are very cool. I hear the green is mesmerizing in different lights and the Batman is a cool modern watch. Up for debate if 5 or 6 dig sub is better (LV would be most collectable 6dig sub IMO) but I 100% believe 5 dig GMTs are much better the 6dig counterparts therefore to me hulk would be the way to go.

I agree with those who are saying that one way to be sure that you will buy the wrong watch today is to buy it based on worry / speculation about whether it will hold its value tomorrow. My experience was that I had the opportunity to buy both and I chose the 116610LV. Can't really explain why, I just trusted this thing called personal opinion / instinct. Good luck to you.

As an owner of both, here's my take:

Isn't it kind of a moot point, since they have both been discontinued and neither are available for sale anywhere?

I have both and love both as part of my collection. Both are great in their own right but if I had to choose, I’d go with BLNR (but it’s a tough choice)

Have you looked into how to purchase one new from an AD because it’s no easy job....or are you planning to use a grey dealer?

If planning to go the AD route it could take some time.

Go for the LN as it has the GMT function and hints of green, so the best of the two watches you asked about.

As others have mentioned, buy the watch because you truly want the watch not as an investment!

I currently own a Batman and I couldn't more highly recommend it. I think it is also more versatile than the Hulk. The Green of the Hulk in-person didn't impress me as much the Batman. My vote is Batman :+)

The BLNR easy. Also prefer Batman over the hulk in comics anyways.
