What are your thoughts on the 5100p

I find myself recently, and strangely rather, being drawn to the unconventional shape of the 5100, particularly with the black dial(p). Should I snap out of it and just take my medications as advised and forget about it??
Just wondering what others thoughts are on this watch?

SNAP OUT OF IT!!

In all seriousness, this is one of the more tolerable Gondolos IMHO... lovely movement and impressive 10 day power reserve. I just wonder how it actually wears given the thickness of the case... have you tried it on?

Wouldn't be my first choice but if I had a rather extensive collection of PP, it would be a really nice change of pace

Full disclosure that my comment was only based on photos. Perhaps my eyes are deceiving me, but some of the profile shots look like the thickness at the center is roughly 2x the height of the crown. Is the crown on the smaller side?

Got to love a 10 day power reserve, however that alone proves the fact that this is a collection piece. One you may wear once every 10 days or so.

I think in a large collection it would be a really nice piece.

Well it's an interesting piece but not for me, can't see myself wearing such a watch, but for some why not

Fabulous pictures and reference belonging in serious collections. IMO I would put others ahead of it in a small collection.

Beautiful collection Roger. Any special reason the 5100 is no longer in your collection?

The 5100P is a nice piece with the black dial. The 5100G with the blue dial is also very nice and is at a lot more affordable price range. I tried both on my wrist, but couldn't decide which one I liked better.

Thank you. The 5100g went as a trade against a 5970r although a lot has changed again since then!
