Congrats to him. I have to wonder why he never wore it though. That one always escapes me.

this story also reminds me of the lady that found a PN Daytona in her couch that she bought for $25 at a thrift store... I am about to go hit up some thrift stores...

Insane, kudos to the owner for storing it in a safety deposit box all those years.

Doesn't look like the episode is available to view at the moment. From article:
"Episode 4 of the 24th season of Antiques Roadshow officially airs on January 27 and is not currently available to view online. I learned the information in this post from viewing the episode when it was temporarily available online until early this morning." |

Very strange today that many poo poo movements from ETA but when the Rolex name is on the dial it suddenly changes. At the time the manual wind Rolex Daytona you could not give them away very poor sellers. Now they seem to be by many a grail watch, just wonder if that is because of the watch,or the huge prices they bring today, myself suspect its the high command price and not the watch.

This should fetch at least 4 times that road show's estimation at auction. A true NOS if not the only NOS Paul Newman out there.
