Explorer 1 36mm 114270 on Jubilee works!!!

I had an Explorer 14270 with Jubilee bracelet and it worked easily since the case is the same as similar era Datejust plus the lug holes on the side make it a breeze to change straps.

The 114270 presents 2 problems:
  • no-holes case
  • springbar attach about 1mm inward toward the case
.

Several members have confirmed they used the Jubilee bracelet on the 114270 via the very rare 502T end-links. Thank you rcambrid
https://www.rolexforums.com/showthread.php?t=422582

I am guessing the 502T end-links work because they are designed for the 2mm springbars, but our 114270 use the 1.8mm springbars. What this does is create wiggle room to fit springbars at least 1mm closer toward the case while using the stock 1.8mm springbars.

My solution was thanks to Rolliworks who lives local to me and was kind enough to try a standard 555B-with cutouts end-links. They fit perfect and rather tight to the case. The caveat is you have to use curved springbars to accommodate for the lug holes being slightly inward.

So, now you have 2 ways of fitting a Jubilee bracelet to the 114270. Happy Hunting and while not affiliated with member ROLLiWORKS: I know he occasionally sells these bracelets here on the forum.
  • The 502T with 1.8MM standard springbars
  • The 555B with 1.8MM curved springbars

Thanks, I have been passionate about finding a solution to put a Jubilee on 114270. I kept getting negative comments like "not possible" or "just buy an older 14270" etc..... but heck the solution exists and its very simple afterall!

Looks equally awesome on the 214270. Heck despite the 39mm case it fits great! Congrats

My code series "M" 114270 has factory Oyster with Solid End Links.

Once the Oyster was off and Jubilee was on it....immediately noticeable is how much lighter weight the watch now feels with the older Jubilee bracelets 62510H + hollow end links 555B-with cutouts.

I enjoy the Jubilee more for its vintage vibe, flimsy and lightweight feel. Heck even the non-locking bracelet gives me a warm feeling in its simplicity. I have used a Jubilee before and the clasp never opened without me wanting it to.

Overall I am very happy with finally getting this combo to work.

Nice combo. It fits quite well and the look dresses it up a little bit more!

Looks very nice !

I'm a metal bracelet noob, so I'm surprised to discover that one cannot just source a Jubilee and mate it with watch case
