Tudor extends the warranty to 5 years

Tudor has increased the price twice on Dec 2018 & Jan 2019, but they also extended the warranty to 5 years for all new watches🤨🤨
Watch purchased from 1st July 2018 to 31st Dec 2019 will get free 18 months warranty extension as well.🤨🤨

This is correct. It was posted a few weeks ago. Great move by Tudor to meet the industry standard for warranties. Excellent move to extend warranties for owners who recently purchased Tudors just prior to the warranty length update.

It is good news, but honestly most Rolex and Tudor buyers will never use the warranty for anything more serious than a regulation.

Perhaps everyone with a basic black bay. Seems to be quite a few issues with the GMT date disk and the Bronze’s aluminum bezel inlay when it hits salt water.

Regardless, most Rolex/Tudor owners will not be so affected. That was my point, not that warranties are unnecessary.

Good news for folks with the troubled GMT, although I suspect Rolex would have been good about fixing those regardless.

In fact, before the Rolex warranties were lengthened a few years ago, it was pretty common to hear about Rolex fixing genuine defects even out of warranty. In that sense, the extended warranty doesn't really mean very much. But, the certainty is nice.

I don't believe this is the standard (five year warranty) but the lead for the industry. From my experience the standard is two years. Good for Tudor taking the lead along with Rolex.

Many brands are doing 8 years these days, Rolex and Tudor are still behind. My IWC was just about out of its 2 year warranty (One week left), and IWC extended it another 6 years.

They are just following the heard. They should be going back a couple of years and extending everyone who is still under their original warranty period.

And you would be honestly wrong. Many Tudor GMT's had to have the entire movement swapped out and to compound matters, it did not always fix the problem.

Doesn't make Grady's comments wrong. We have no way of knowing the % of problem watches, regardless of the brand or issue. I tend to agree w/ Grady. Watch forums are anecdotal at best.

I must respectfully disagree Lee. However I will admit the statement is based on my limited experience.

IWC 8 years
Omega 5 years
Rolex 5 years

There are also other watch brands that I have not had the pleasure of owning offering 8 year warranties.

It sucks that you had an awful experience with Tudor to the extent that it has incurred your wrath and personal vendetta against the brand and specifically the GMT.

The truth is, isolated incidents such as yours and the “many” you claim reported on watch forums is a mere fraction in comparison to those that have not had issues.

There's actually been no official announcement on a warranty extension for watches purchased between 06/18 and 12/19, however, in the UK Goldsmiths, for example, are advertising a 5yr warranty for new pieces.

There's nothing on the Tudor site whatsoever.

5 years warranty for new pieces is correct. The other half of the story isn't verified whatsoever.

I can confirm I spoke to Rolex / Tudor customer service directly in the UK this afternoon as I wanted to know if they did a half link for my BB41 which they don’t unfortunately and I asked them at the same time about the rumour of a warranty extension on watches purchased from an AD in 2019. She confirmed my watch now had 3.5 years warranty from date of purchase.
