Just saw how to use Tapatalk to upload photos. Too bad it only allows one picture upload for the non purchased version. But easy to use which helps.

I bought a DSSD James Cameron last september 2019. I love it even if I have an issue that seems very hard to solve by the Toronto Service Technicians The date change at almost 6 minutes past midnight.....THIS IS THE FOURTH TIME I sent it back and I hope this time will be the right one. I cannot explain myself such situation and your advices would be appreciated. Since the purchase I had it in my possession for 15 days the rest of the time my watch was in Toronto for what I call a "repair trial".

I though I'd read somewhere on TRF that the date changing +/-5min after midnight wasn't uncommon, nor an issue.

"Since the purchase I had it in my possession for 15 days"
This is just ridiculous.

It’s not really an issue though. It’s extremely common on lots of different watches for a watch to be a few minutes off in the date change. I’d be way more concerned about what might happen to the watch as they try to make you happy.

Exactly!!!! No way should you send the watch in for that. All my Rolexes and other brands for that matter change date a few minutes after midnight. This is normal, please don’t let them open your watch and mess with it, please.

If you read the specifications about the movement you will notice that Rolex
says: Instantaneous date with rapid setting so not -5min or+5 min after midnight.

Their statement about the nature of the change is entirely factual.
Other than the bogus marketing BS around the Skydweller movement, Rolex don't make any claim about the time frame of the day or date change for any other movement.

Should a 10 minute window apply as a matter of policy, it would appear to be reasonable all things considered.
After all, it is only an indicator and once one gets to know their watch it becomes little more than an inconvenience for up to a few minutes out of every day at the least problematic time of the day.
Pray you don't suffer the dreaded 32xx movement timekeeping pox.

Congrats on the DSSD.

I'm a stickler for accuracy with my watches...actually that's not entirely true - what I am is pedantic about the watch performing within the specifications that it's manufacturer says it will. Last yearI sent my 126660 back twice because each time it was performing considerably outside those specs - once it got to losing 7 or 8 seconds per day back to RSC it went - but mine was possibly one of the lubrication issues that a small number of 3235's seem to experience,

That said, I have never seen anything saying that Rolex state the date would change at exactly midnight! Mine changes at around 12.10 AM, and I am quite happy with that - I would not be sending back a watch for something like that as I wouldn't expect it to change exactly at that time.

It would be nice if it did, but its not something Rolex guarantee anymore than the crown lining up precisely.

They mean the date changes to the new number instantly instead of a slow gradual change. Not that it happens at the stroke of midnight.

I promise you, if you’re into watches for a while, you’ll know this simply isn’t an issue. And having the watch tinkered with to “fix” this is a bad decision.

As others said, instantaneous date change does not mean “instant and precisely at 12:00 midnight.” It means the date wheel clicks and quickly switches “immediately” rather than slowly changing “rolling over” to the new date over “a couple of hour” period.

You are chasing a ghost. No way does Rolex intend to have it change precisely at midnight. It’s always a few minutes off. Let it go. They will mess something else up trying to please you.

Gratuitous pic.

Thank you very much for your advices.A friend of mine sent his watch for the same reason and now it changes exactly spot on at midnight so it depends if this is something that's important to ya(like it is me).
Regards.
