~16ish around 1984. Bought a 1603 with grey linen sigma dial from my Grandfather for $200 plus installing cable TV connection in their master bedroom. Kept the watch until ~2000 and sold it for $800. I wish I had never sold it.

I was 19. I bought a 1675 GMT new, and still have it. It cost me two weeks pay at the time. Bargain compared to now. But, someone has to pay for all the advertising and sponsorship...

I inherited my late grandfather’s 1979 Datejust when I was 16. Ever since then I knew I wanted to buy another Rolex to be able to pass down. Fast forward 20 years later and I just purchased a SD 43.

24. Bought a TT DJ with black tapestry dial off a friend of mine for £900. Lost it in a carjacking in west London in '95. It was pretty scratched up and the jubilee had plenty of stretch but I absolutely loved that watch.

18....worked in a well known Ad and bought a explorer 1....paid half price plus vat....seemed like the earth to paybut looking back it was only around £700.

Should have kept it but moved on to 16710 coke pretty quickly and had to sell it to eat....ive still got the coke 20 something years later.

19. No way in hell would it be possible if parents didn’t support me by providing free rent. Lord bless them for basically in a way getting me a Rolex at a ripe age of youth.

TRF is a treasure trove for the rolex marketing department
They know age demographics, models sought after, where the hype is
the shortage of SS models was created by us for us....#staywoke
