SD43 vote. Sold the 114060 and don't miss it.

Had the sub. Traded for the SD. Wanted something less ubiquitous and with more wrist presence. Perfect diver imo.

Sea Dweller is more special and less common so that would be my pick

Keep the 43, and then get yourself a vintage Submariner.

SD43. Swap the black sub for a green one. Or upgrade it to a bluesy or smurf. Tons of variations for the sub. Few options for SD (black, black, or blue faded to black)

From an engineering perspective they have nothing in common.
Keep both.

It’s an anniversary model, it has the red touch, it’s a superior diver, it has superior wrist presence, it wears almost as slim as a sub and finally got the modern movement. To me, today, it’s a one way ticket. However, if I have a 6” wrist and I’m in 2020 with the new sub option then I’ll take the sub.

I have both and if I have to choice, the SD43 would be my choice to keep. Why? Is an anniversary edition with a unique size, red text, glossy/matte dial, better proportions, new movement 3235.

One is a perfectly proportioned dive watch with that intangible something special. The other is a 6 digit sub

I agree that the SD43 aesthetics are fantastic. However, the small case back relative to the case leads to long term discomfort on my 7 in flat wrist. The sub is way more comfortable. If Rolex would actually engineer a new more proportional case back and not just slap on the old SD4K case back on the SD43, it would be perfect in my opinion.

I prefer the SD43, but honestly, I think your sub fits into that collection better.

First time wearing it out.. comfort wise, you can tell it's on the wrist!! Yikes!! For those who own one; does that feeling go away? |

sub for me. I prefer the feel. but i have small wrists.
so i would go with what feels better to you. if you go on looks alone, they both look substantially similar. |

It's definitely noticeable when I first put it on (compared to my sub and gmt) but that feeling quickly fades and it becomes very comfortable to wear. |

Yes it does and quite quickly in my experience. I don't even notice the SD43 on my wrist currently (but kind of miss the presence it initially displayed).

If the sub had proportions like the 5 digit models it’s a no brainer. The current subs with the narrow lugs look weird.
I’ll take my SD43 any day. It’s also not as common as the sub, which makes it a bit unusual and to me, a bit more interesting Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Does Mk2 of my watch change any of your SD43 votes? Just curious...

Are 2018 DJ41s with no coronet going to be collectible? I doubt it. Same situation.
