After 7 days

Explorer 2 - 116750, 2011, 3186, daily 24hrs wear.
+11.5 sec

GMT CHNR - 126711CHNR, 2018, 3285, wound only face up
-11.5 sec

+/- .25 for glance variance

Not bad, about a 1.5 gain per day! wish it was less thiugh ;)

18 days in - Tudor Black Bay Fifty-Eight is 7 seconds fast in total (average of 0.39 seconds fast per day).

Have not relegated - lays flat / dial up on night stand at end of each day. Only have wound from time-to-time.

Anyone up for a February Accuracy Experiment?

21 days in for me and holding steady; no special treatment to ensure accuracy (other than wearing it).

This is kinda freaky to me: 75% done!

Frankly, even though I've worn this watch for a long time, I've never checked the accuracy over an extended period until now. This is an 11-year old watch that has never been serviced and doesn't lead an easy life!

Watch: Rolex Explorer II 16570
Movement: 3186
Series: V
Year: 2009
Service History: Never serviced
Variance First 21 Days: +0.4 seconds from NIST time
Timing Method: Watch Tracker App
Comments: I wear my 16570 pretty much all the time (except when working out and showering). During those times I leave it face up. That means it's on my wrist about 22 hours each day.
(Note for non-GMT viewers: the second hand is pointing at 12 o'clock. The red hand is the 24-hour GMT hand. Sorry for pointing out the obvious, but I've been asked...)

Just checking back.

I am on day 20, and have gained 5spd on the SD43.
I’m going to try crown up to see if it slows down. I’ve been wearing it to bed lately.

UPDATE
Explorer 2 - 14.5secs fast after 14 days. 1.04+ per day aint bad. It seemed to jump to 2 secs fast initially and settled down after 3 days. Ive worn it constantly during the month and am super happy for the rate. I don’t recall if I had fully wound the watch and set it from a stop to maybe account for the initital rate of differential.

GMT CHNR - 26 secs fast after 14 days. 1.86 - per day. I put this on a winder at T+9 days and up until then it was right on pace for losing time as the explorer was for gaining.

After 25 days

I am putting back SD43 after 25 days of wear...including tennis, weight lifting, biking, etc. No effort made to regulate via position at night, I wore it to sleep most days.

AFTER 25 days, watch is running -7s total (-0.3s/d). Very impressive.

Apparently a couple of days on the winder affected my accuracy quite a bit. Now -3 sec for 26 days completed. Maybe - 2 since time.is say it's .6 seconds fast.

Day 25.

YM 116622 has gained 33.3s in total, +1.3s/d on average. I've been wearing it daily this month and leaving it 9up when resting.

Screenshot_20200226-124952.jpg

SD43 has gained 0.9s in total, i.e. +0.036 s/d. I didn't expect that. Still unworn, sits in my watchbox horizontal up, I wind it up every two days in the course of this February exercise.

It's says my computer clock is 2.2 seconds fast so I'm off about 1-2 seconds over the last 28 days. Not bad, not bad at all.

Looks like mine is about 17 seconds slow over the entire month of February. Not bad I'd say. No rhyme or reason to how it was stored nightly. Wore it every day from wake up to bedtime.

I always wondered what people were talking about when they said it could be hard to read the time on a Daytona. Maybe it’s the photo but it took me a while to tell on this.

It wouldn’t stop me buying one. The DD can be damn hard to tell the time at night but that’s OK too.

Wore the Tudor BB 58 for entire month of February. 8 seconds fast over the course of this 28-day month (+0.29 seconds/day).

Day 28:

YM 116622: I've gained a total of 35.8s, +1.3 s/d on average, worn daily and resting 9up at night. Pleased with the results. Wearing it every day has made me bond with it even more and all I'm thinking about is further consolidate the collection.

SD43: I've gained 1.4s in total, exactly 0.05 s/d on average The watch has not been worn, resting horizontal up the whole month and wound up manually every 2 days. Mind boggling. I don't get how a mechanical watch can be so accurate.Screenshot_20200228-194145.jpgScreenshot_20200228-194211.jpg

I’m pretty certain the picture isn’t the best. I really have no problem reading the dial. At any rate the sundial is the second hand. I usually use the sweep second hand to track the date.

+7 seconds total on the 216570, weird jump in the middle of the month with no explanation but pretty consistent the rest of the month. Regulated each night crown up, starting day 5 or so. Wore it all but 3 days this month. Daytona, YM and Tudor Date Day all got a day in there at some point.

Almost the same story here:
OP 39: +7.1secs started regulating the watch by placing it crown up over night after the first week.
+0.3sec/d is well within specs.
Happy days!

Zero time lost or gained during the month.... but self-regulating overnight. Not sure if this disqualifies me. :)

+33 seconds for me from February 1 to today (February 29). I didn't record any data but it seemed to gain almost 2 sec/day for the first week, then settled out and gained less than 1 sec/day for a while, then started gaining almost 2 sec/day again the last few days. I don't expect the movement actually has that much variability right? So what "seemed" to happen may have not really been the case. I left the watch resting on it's side dial up every night while sleeping, I didn't notice this having any affect at all. Fun experiment!

DJ41 blue stick dial jubilee purchased new from local AD on January 28, 2020.

I’m not about to start tracking seconds. But I will say , my recently acquired Zenith El Primero blows away the accuracy of my wife’s DJ 41 and it’s a bit better than my sub. I ain’t loosing sleep over it.

If the watch is “dial up” wouldn’t that mean it’s resting on it’s back?
